  1. Thanks for that, are the motors normally very notchy, this one has been like it since new, recently it has got worse until todays Trial near Salisburwhich ended in diasaster!!!!!
  2. Hi Has anyone else had this problem with their Oset? My Son was riding in a trial when the bike stopped, Red indicator light showed 3 Reds,Dropping to 1 when any throttle was applied.Further investigation revealed that the chain had come off, I refitted the chain to the rear sprocket but noticed that their was approx 25 mm of play in the chain at mid position. I adjusted out the play to 1-2 mm as per manual,This was a very big adjustment on the rear wheel, I am used to making slight adjustment that are required to eliminate the chain touching the plastic chain guard. Upon turning the throttle the Red light dropped to 1 with only a slight Forward movement of the Bike. This would normally indicate a flat battery, however closer inspection of the output drive shaft from the motor showed that it had moved backwards, this explained the slack chain initially seen.I am now assuming that the bearing has collapsed within the motor as this would explain both chain slack & lack of Torque output. The chain has never been overtightened on this bike. The Oset manual says Tip – correct chain tension can be found by locating your finger and thumb on the top and bottom of the chain just in front of the chain cover mounts. You should be able to squeeze the chain together by 1-2mm. If your rear and or front sprocket is damaged or worn, The Exam question is can this motor be stripped down & bearings replaced, £120 new replacement or a service exchange item? I have not heard of other Osets with this snag before, any ideas ?
