MY nearly finished 1980 320-
Just waitng for plastic tank and seat to go on in the next few weeks!
-
Please give us the answers we have all been waiting for..................
-
Hey folks- the burning question still hasn't been answered by the god of all things trials!!
-
Has gone very quiet on the stupid replies tonight?....................mmm
-
Eratic running with air leak on a Bult could be several things , air leak or oil leak in mains seals , split leaking intake manifold rubber , brocken base gasket etc
Crank seals could be in wrong or in the 340 case should have the thicker double type single type crank seals fitted - two single seals in either side (4 in total)on a 340
won't fit properly.
Or could be a big list of other possibilities carb, mains, crank - the list could go on....
Or is the engine REALLY rebuilt like they say..........mmmmmm.
-
So here is the burning question mr Majesty340......
Exactly what twinshock bikes do you own and why do you ride them? thats if you do....................!!
-
I take it also that you have never heard of - In motion twinshock trials spares, Bill Pye ,Bob Wright , Steve Goode , Martin Matthews etc
Who ALL specialise in not japanese trilas spares.
NO - i don't think you were at the Malvern show!

Hi all ,
Am going to ride the TL 320 this weekend as was wondering which fuel oil mix to use, as i
haven't riiden a twinshock for about 15 years.
I will also be running the engine in for the first couple of hours of riding.
I was going to use fully synthetic at 50:1 with super unleaded , i have been told to use semi synthetic at 40:1
also with superunleaded as its an older air cooled machine.
I am not interested in the different oil brand debate , i just want to know what mix is best.
What do you think?

I was told recently that early on that italjet were the italian Bultaco importers , and the first italjets were Bultaco's painted green.
Somebody may correct me on this!.
Have alook at this site, great for looking at models of most trials bike-

Hi , try Steve Goode m/c's on 01938 850544
He might have odd parts .

Thanks for the advice guys,
I have now repacked the mid box which is getting welded up tomorrow.
It is in very good condition .Then it needs re-painting - i will try the barbecue paint route!
As for the silencer box i am going to stick with the original .
It needed a major decoke and burn/clean out but is as good as i will get it.
This is getting welded up along with the mid box .
I won't bother going down the route of trying a different silencer-
I am trying to keep the bike as original as possible -that's how i like it and that's
how it should be in my opinion-- no ' i'm not an anorak either!.
Thanks
-
Hi , i am halfway through re-packing the mid box and seperate silencer on my TL 320 .
Have cut open the mid box and de-coked it ,re-packed it and am going to weld it up -ok.
I have now cut open the back of the rear silencer (the side that usually rubs on tyre) to
find that inside it only has baffle plates and no core or packing-
Can anyone please tell me if this is correct and should it have cores/packing and
has anyone re-packed theirs?
Thanks

Hi all , i am restoring a pair of yellow and orange Ossa gripper's 250 and 350.
Does any one know the paint RAL code for the orange and yellow colours?
Also does any one know of a good fibreglass making person who can make side
panels etc , not just ossa but other bike/parts as well?
Thanks

Wim Vos was the company run by the brother of Peter Vos -dutch trials importer for SWM ,OSSA ,FANTIC and BETA in their times
The rider you may be thinking of could be Marco Reit , dutch champion for many years and low world points scorer.
Wim Vos team colours where green and white.
Quite afew riders rode for the team.

From the message i got - not that good , but i don't know where he finished.
I only had the results for the top 3.
Lets hope he hasn't done that bad.

According to a well known off road rag out today - HRC Montesa has issued an official statement saying that they are not renewing Doug's conract for 2008.
For all you die hard mont fanatics our there don't worry too much , i'm sure you will get over it!
ANYWAY it doesn't matter what bike Doug ends up riding- at least he still will be riding- like he deserves to , that's the main thing!
-
Why don't you try Bultaco uk, i know they stock them.

Some people seem to forget that the springs in their old twinshocks are 30+ years old!
with all that time sitting compressed/riding the springs will probably of sagged.
it is usual in my experience that you replace sherpa springs with pursang springs of a longer length,
wich overall makes the forks better than ones fitted with std sherpa springs.
