  1. just to let you know on ANY renthal bar part no the first three numbers are the bend of the bar all other no's after are bike or rider then colour.so if two different bike/rider bends start with the same three no's then they ARE the same bend as each other. trust me i work for a renthal distributor. :hat:
  2. hope this helps- go on www.renthal.com website click on to products then handlebars then 7/8" bars then trials this chart gives you all the dimensions you will need.
  3. the 'black lump' as you call it is a factory spec coil which is completely different to a std bike so it mounts differently. :santawink:
  4. rode the trial today with the new vee.conditions were not as wet as yesterday but it was still very greasy.first thing - this tyre grips very very well in the mud,if i had fitted an irc or michelin i would not have noticed any difference at all.so i give it a big thumbs up!.not sure what it would be like on rock,i think maybe the compound would be slightly too hard but not much.for the average rider/club rider this tyre would be ideal.try one and see what you think,a very good buy if the pockets aren't that full at
  5. have now put the tyre on and ridden with it today to set out our club trial.the ground was a mix of clay/peat but very very wet!. first impressions are very good,i had been using an irc for the last few months which is now very worn.the vee rubber certainly is not crap at all! it grips ok in these conditions, probably as good as an x11 or irc but will now for sure tommorrow when i ride the trial(i ride in the expert class).the only real diifference i have noticed is that the side walls seem very strong and the tyre doesn't look that flat at around 3psi,but this could change after a good ride on it.we shall see after tommorrow.
  6. i have replaced the rim band a couple of times and sealed it differently each time, but it still goes down.tried using a bit of silicone but this still does not work any good suggestions?
  7. have just got a vee rubber radial 400 x 18,will fit it next week at see how it performs on 4th dec club trial.it is an exact copy of a michelin x11,apart from the tread pattern on top of the knobs.the compound seems ok and is only very slightly harder than the x11 but hardly any,the knobs twist easy but the x11 is still a little bit easier to turn but it could be the cold weather. not bad for
  8. have now settled on castrol tts at 70:1 with a 126 main and 34 pilot. seems to be ok,but it was wet and muddy so i may go back to a 33 pilot, we shall see.also now running castrol tts- bike runs cleaner.much better than putoline mx7.the castrol is not as thick as the mx7 and it also mixes easier. i used to use tts by gospel back in my 2stroke mx days.always said it was the best 2 stroke you can get.
  9. thanks for the info, but have decided to order a new airbox.
  10. ta,but all three threaded inserts are split.and the bolts keep coming loose, even with threadlock. i'd rather have the airbox fitting properly like it is meant to. thanks for the advice anyway.
  11. does anyone know how much a new airfilter box is for 290 sherco 03-05. the brass inserts in mine are knackered. if so where did you get one from? ta.
  12. ok dabster, will try that this sunday. thanks.
  13. i am in south east england - mud! have tried running at leaner mix 65/70:1 earlier but my steed seemed to run a bit hotter and not be as responsive ,when it has been running richer it pulls alot stronger.i am trying to find a happy medium between not being too rich and power being ok. this is what i am running- main 126 pilot 33 needle clip 2nd from top air screw 31/2 turns out super unleaded ngk vx plug and cap all other carb settings are std for that year according to sherco website.
  14. ok then which oil should i use semi or full synthetic? i am currently running at 60:1 on putoline mx7 full synthetic. any replies for this one?
