Has anyone tried the new HEBO TR PRO boot which is their top of the range boot?
its the same type that Fajardo currently uses
I am thinking of maybe getting a pair quite soon
Had worn Alpinestars for years , good quality and very comfy , but have more support than any other boots
i've tried , but a little heavy, looking to try something with good support and strong sole
Tried some GAERNE oiled last year -the good ones but had little ankle support and the sole was not stong
enough - make my ankle ache for days after every trial , so sold them and whent back to my old astars
opinions and answers please

HELLS GATE is not an enduro ......
-
Anybody been able to translate the article about this new trials bike on TODOTRIAL ? -
http://www.todotrial.com/ttactual/index-actual-marcototal.htm?
-
So WHY was this topic started then ................??????????? think about it!
-
- I Think you just have!
All I am saying is that some people are compairing what he did with bikes of later times like a Puma etc which is missing the point totally.
There have been several copies of Vesty's last bult built over the years even a guy from Finland who tried to palm off a bike saying it was one of Vestys which was not the case , I also know a guy who built a copy of John Reynolds 340 , there have been discussions on here and bikes advertised in the past couple or years.
Like I said some people will never understand.....
-
I still don't think you understand and probably never will what a genius Reg May was when
working with a motorcycle, he was one clever man and I don't think that you realise
the differences that he could make to anything he lay his hands on, doesn't matter what it 'looks' like.
Get the picture.........???
Ask ANYONE who GENUINELY knew him and they will tell you the same I'm sure...
He built Vesty's last few modded bikes and John Reynolds modded 340 and every one tries to copy them....
-
I don't think any of you realise apart from big john , exactly what Reg was capable
of doing with a motorcycle and in knowing that what this bike consists of ,
as he said anything that was built by Reg was special.
To me he was better than any Bultaco factory designer/mechanic ever
and John is in his own right just as clever.
This bike is not an aftermarket frame or anything like that at all
as I said it is a bike that he built and John has built to their
own spec.
-
ok then , this is what I do know-
it was built by Reg and heavily modified
i'm sure it is a 250cc.
the rear of the frame is as big john said a similar type
to the bikes he built to the ones like Vesty's comerfords 340's etc
this bike was just one that he built and as far as I know John has always owned it.
Other than that only John really knows.
Its not a championship winning bike or anything like that
it's just one that Reg 'built'.
I have known John personally for many many years
and Reg was a good friend of my late father.
-
The bultaco that you are talking about belongs to John May , who is Reg May's son
this bike is a lot more special than you might think! -need I say more!
-
Ceriani was an older manufacturer of front forks and the company has been around for years,
Paoli bought the ceriani brand/name a couple of years back and then rebraned
the sherco Paoli forks as 'ceriani' forks , they are paoli forks with ceriani decals on.
I would think that the new sherco models use the new DID style MORAD rim , same as GasGas and
Beta do on their 2011 models.
-
Looks like he's gone into hibernation until next years rider-bike merry-go-round starts again!
We shall see! , but he'll no doubt appear before then!-
probably as 'sherco/ossaben' or some interbred undecided name.
-
Well, GASGASBEN was right all along.................................
Could it be that all of a sudden his posts about this topic that he HAS been
banging on about may misteriously disappear!!
Perhaps he thinks that a gasgas and a beta are infact the same bike!!
Sorry but I had to say it or someone else would have!

John Lampkin/BETA UK wont be there, spoke to them yesteday.
Looks like its down to Shirty and Rasters to fly the flag.....
-
dibs to beta
lampkin to gasgas
brown to gasgas
wigg to sherco
Have heard from a very very reliable source about wiggy to sherco and also brown leaving sherco
but heard brown was going to beta
Heard all this 3 weeks ago
We shall see............stranger things have happened!
-
If Doug HAD re-signed with beta back in San Marino , why hasn't it been officailly announced?
Others riders are on the move too......could be interesting.
No doubt gasgasben knows all about it though!
-
I've got one easy answer- WATER
There was lots of it! may have been the problem don't you think
But he shouldn't have that problem with his bike next year..............
-
I totally agree with both the above- name and shame him and his 'mate' - with a bit of luck he'll never do it again and
others will think twice about doing the same......
If no one helped observe or help run an event we wouldn't have any trials to ride
We do this for fun - riding and helping. If we didn't like it we wouldn't do it!

My 09 300 is very smooth not snappy at all and is completely standard apart from a differnt pilot jet.
I have not fitted a flywheel weight like some do and Ive had the bike from new.
But is has loads of torque! but I like it like that
it will go up anything .
A 250 is obviously a lot softer and smooth also.
If I did not get another 300 I would buy a 250 not a 280.
cheers
-
Use a semi synthetic or castor oil NOT castrol TTS which is fully synthetic
and run at 40:1 not 50:1.
Use super unleaded fuel.
-
You should have 2 seals in either side.
These could be 7mm or 10mm thick (each seal) depending on how deep they sit.
so you would use either 4 x 7mm seals or 4 x 10mm seals (2 each side)
Some sherpa forks had circlips but most didn't
if you dont have circlips - dont worry , the seals will not come out.
The seals wont make adrifference to the stiffness/hardness , this is done by
fork oil qty and grade and springs.
Standard fork oil should be 15wt and 180cc in each leg.
Use this as your starting point.
If still too soft either use 20w or a bigger qty ie- 190cc or 200cc
You can use 20w , but don't use lighter than 15w they will be to soft.
If this is still too soft then try new fork springs as 99% of sherpa forks were always
too soft and not plush at all.
Hope this helps.
-
There are 4 different spring types available from ROTAX-
hard, medium, soft, and softer
DO NOT USE 4 SPRINGS
I used 6 springs = 4 x soft with 2 x medium
any combination of softer springs than this and the clutch will slip
These springs are available from ROTAX new.
Also use EP80/90 gear oil , the gearbox and gearchange is much smoother
Also fit a new cable when the old ones feels stiff, and lubricate cable EVERY trial
with the correct graphite spray lube- these jobs will make the clutch half as light.

Hi why don't you try www.inmotiontrials.com in the UK
They have parts for most montesa's
SEE HERE
-
The new 2010 raga rep that i rode last week had a flanged mont type rear rim
but is has a MORAD rim not a DID rim
