  1. You may be able to get it welded, I have had success on different bikes having aluminium welded on fork tubes at the wheel spindle, good luck
  2. I have not ridden either venue for about a year but Cliviger was open Saturday and Sunday's don't get there to early the farmer collects fee in car park. Feniscowles again Sat & Sun drive up to farm house and ask for Peter he likes to show you where you can and cannot ride. Check no local trial on at time e.g Darwin, Rochdale, Bolton or Redrose at either venue etc. Maybe someone else can confirm the above is still correct. Cheers Birdy

    Rubbish front brake

Ride around whilst holding the front brake on, then when hot pour cold water on the disc and pads, it cleans up the pads and disc. I do it from time to time to keep brakes sharp. Cheers
  4. I agree using a cover with a bike rack is fairly obvious what's underneath and unless you tie it down well the wind lifts it up at speed, may work better if you get one made to size. I have a similar problem I've got a trailer and rack, my works van gone back. I was thinking of buying a covered trailer which would be cheaper than running a van and car.
  5. Make sure you have a little free play on the brake lever. enjoy Birdy.
  6. I agree, great gloves, keep hands warm when raining. Wulfsport gear is great value generally and lasts well. I'm not affiliated with Wulfsport in any way. Cheers. Birdy

    Beta Techno 200

I am not sure of the exact year but on the 250 the engine case, cylinder and base gasket changed from having a step in the rear around 1998 Black / Grey Dougie Lampkin Replica, so are not interchangeable before that, maybe someone else can can confirm?
  8. Was the bike bought as a non runner? Try all the above first but if still no joy do a compression test with a compression tester, I had same problem, it felt like loads of compression on kicking over but tested with meter and not enough, stripped and piston rings stuck on one side as partially siezed. Cleaned up ring grooves on piston and 4 years later still going strong, good luck.
  9. I had a cracked spindle clamp I wanted welding, and it came apart by unscrewing as said before, I couldn't remember if it had an o ring or not, and the great Jim Snell video above, says to that they use threadlock, but he doesn't say if has o ring or not. I think you have nothing to lose if it has just come loose, you may have to use some gasket sealer threadlock etc, and if the thread is o.k just screw back together, before buying a new fork tube. Cheers
  10. The sliver part is screwed onto the black fork tube, with possibly an o ring to seal, undo the mudguard clamp of the the black fork tube and check if loose. If tight strip and check if has o ring, I checked parts diagram but it doesn't show fork internals. As said above the oil looks past its best and will be low as leaking, I have used Dextron 3 Atf as a fork, oil similar to 7.5 fork oil, but much cheaper especially if checking for leak, it also can be used as a gearbox oil as well, let me know how you get on, good luck Birdy.
  11. Wulfsport neoprene are good, they are long on the wrist so you can put inside the sleeve of your waterproof jacket.
  12. Steve is correct, Rev 3 won't fit, new ones are hard to find, try trials breakers like Richard Allen 01933 314145 Tor Moto breaks bikes or ebay good luck.

    97 Techno 250

Dexron III ATF for the gearbox, fill until you can see half way up in sight glass window near gear lever, make sure bike on wheels and sitting level. Enjoy.
  14. What about a left kick start bike like a Beta?
  15. I just read totty79 comment from the 17th, bikes vary from make to make e.g I understand a New 250 Gas Gas is more agresive than The equivalent New 250 Evo?
  16. Hi Jimmy I was not suggesting you put a crazy low bid in to upset the guys and girls at I P T, they sell bikes and may want to sell the 200 for a reasonable price, if you don't ask you don't get, you know what is a good price, or look more at head inserts etc on the more popular 250 etc. Just a thought but have you tried riding the more popular 250 Evo as it may not be as crazy as you think?
  17. Hi Jimmy you can get a S3 head insert that lowers the compression on the 250, or try thicker base gasket, slow throttle tube black? I don't know how effective the head insets are or base gasket maybe someone else can answer that. You could also make a cheeky bid on the 200 EVO I rode At I.P good luck.
  18. I don't know if you are using the standard black hoses or silicone? I have had Beta's that the original black hose touched the exhaust and was ok. Had me worried for a while though. I have seen Pre 1965 bikes using blue silicone hoses to connect header or manifold to mid box I'd say keep an eye on it. Enjoy
  19. I agree with kt-milly bought a non runner and rings jammed, freed up rings cleaned up lands an ran great.
  20. Wulfsport neoprene gloves work well not too thick
  21. Looks like it's on Canadian TV
  22. Hi Marc your bike looks like a 1999, the forks have a different adjuster on each leg one to compress the spring, the other to adjust the oil flow in the leg. Try adjusting them, remember for trials you want them soft. eBay has some 1998 sticker, that I have used I just cut the Beta part out. Plenty of new and used parts available on eBay or beta uk or other dealers, exploded parts diagram available on the net, enjoy!
  23. If you are looking for a good mechanic try Geoff who works at Sandiford Off Road in Burnley BB11 5SS 01282 455 697 about 20mins from Bury on the way to Clivinger practice venue. Good luck.
  24. The master cylinder cap is where you put the brake fluid for the rear brake usually near tank, follow the brke pipe from the the pedal upwards.
