  1. Well Mike, you can have more than one bike! i bet most on here with their betabob, shercosteve handle are not on same bikes now!!

    Anyway Mark, (Gizza5) how's things? not spoke in a long while, the search button does not tell me anything much, so thought i would post to see if anything new going on.

  2. Just on the subject of Ossa/Gas Gas tangled financial affairs, anyone have any news on the situation? i know GG is shot, but regarding Ossa.

    Seems a shame to have this marque go down so soon after manufacturing a revolutionary bike. 

    Checked out TRS, looks very nice, but bit staid and really old hat. (even Del orto carb)

    Vertigo looks good and i guess will be, but not quite a game changer, mainly Fi is the difference, and the lattice type frame.

    Think will sell very well though, especially with the personnel developing the bike.

    can any Ossa experts shed some light on an easy way to remove rear wheel? i've done it but its a right pain.

    If you had to do it in the field it would be a right aggro!!

    Is there a mod or technique to use?

    By the way got it starting ace now with 12v li ion rechargeable battery now with switch on bars, result!!

  4. Hi, how easy is it to open up beta evo 250 middle box for repacking? We have packed silencer, but it's still very poppy and crackly, any easy or a direction on what to do?

  5. I have a 9v plastic battery box bought from Maplins, it has a on/off switch on it, i leave it on? do you think this is causing drain? didnt think when bike is off/ running etc it would be draining it?? im no leccy expert though.

    The rest of wiring is just the same as yours, using kill switch to start.

  6. Still prob with battery...only seems to last half a day..drained after about a dozen starts!

    Have a couple of high power rechargeables arriving this morning!!

    Surely it cannot drain battery this fast? the switch is left to the on position in 9v battery box placed in airbox, but unless you press the handlebar button to complete circuit it cannot drain??

  7. Anyway, all good now, I've tried it this afternoon, after spending some time checking the wiring, been back to start it at least 5 times, started every time!!

    STOP PRESS!!  wires crossed on kill button/9v battery to capacitor, swapped around, the beast works!!! 2 kicks to prime good kick off she goes!!! at last a result!! :hyper:  :icon_salut:  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D  im off riding...... :P:D

    Yes spark no prob, will only goo if i push up slope and bump start fires straight away!!

    What about a more powerful Li on 12v battery??

    The pump is totally silent all the time when pressing easy start, in fact never heard it apart from first time it went on first night i got it....

    Was going to trial today, but couldnt stand the hassle.....looks like no riding for me....

Thanks 280, I've had a lot of conflicting advise about the starting, 9v system etc, one dealer said hold for 3/4 seconds then 2 kicks to prime them a good one to start...I've held button down all time as well, no difference, never ever hear fuel pump priming with switch, or anything, when first got it a did once then never heard again, it did come with a shrink packed Aa type pack, but as it never worked again I thought they maybe faulty, so swapped to square 9v battery. Dealer wired in after consulting with Nigel Burkett, so must be wired ok?

  12. Hi, it's the hard plastic cap, it fits really tight under the seat, seat would not fit and did not realise it was pushing down on cap, you know the rest!!

    What is this tps thing? Idle seems ok to me?

  13. I've broken the original plug cap on my ossa, swapped to a normal ngk rubber one, does this make any difference, as the crap starting is even more crap!! Tried iridium plug and lithium battery, waste of time!!

    The button for the easy start might as well be effect only as it makes not a jot of difference.

    This bike is the boll@@ks but the starting is rank....

  14. Its well strange!!! kicking it up with all sorts of different ways, sometimes its so dead it seems like it will never go again...!!! then suddenly sparks into life like a rocket!!! no rhyme or reason  :huh: ?? ive had it fire 1st kick, (once) 3rd 4th 12th 30th etc...LOL

    When warm/hot makes it no better, in fact prob worse.

    Does the fuel pump need to make a noise with the easy start depressed?

    Can i use a bigger voltage battery? how about a truck one....!!! LOL... :D  :P  :thumbup:
