    Sparky Plug!

Hi, which is the most recommended plug for 280, bp5es in at mo. Any ones which make it better? And start a bit easier....
  3. Thanks for info, but does this stuff work????
  4. Hi, Can anyone inform me of the special coolant that is supposed to run a lot more cooler than standard antifreeze? I carn't remember what is was called. Ice or something? Does it work? Ian.
  5. Not sure what you mean much maligned?? For what? I have only rode one for a couple of hours and regard it as one of the best trials bikes I've even ridden, with an unbelievable motor, perfect for a trials bike. I've no affiliation to Ossa at all, in fact it's in for repair at mo, but sometimes shi@ happens to all the marques. We all know that!!! Ian
  6. Seems strange been ok at weekend, then suddenly bang!!
  7. Thanks for everyone's input, been to john lees, chas has listened to noise, mains was verdict straight away, not good!!!
  8. Ok, i'll give Birkett a call, see if he has any ideas, Did your mates bike feel a bit, sort of rough, vibrating, felt like it would never stall, now feels as if it could?? strange??
  9. I also meant primary drive nut not crank nut!
  10. Thanks for another idea, but if key, surely it would not go at all?
  11. Thought that, checked, full up!!
  12. Hi TC OSSA riders, Went out Saturday for quick praccy with son on TR280 all good nice and smooth power, went great, rode trial Sunday three quarters of way through, engine got very noisy, finished ok. Fired up when back, noisy, tried later today, (Monday) noisy! went round my mechanic to ask about it, seemed a lot quieter?? He said sounds good, i rode it, but not right, i can tell!! let him have a ride he agreed, says could be loose crank end nut?? anyone shed any light on this? it seems sort of rough, not as smooth as it was, course feeling?? Never felt like it would stall before, but now does?? Ideas?? Ian

  15. Hi been to man 17, hipwell trial today, brill effort from all involved ! Weather bit damp, to say the least!! After the 17 section, my fantic kicked back, knackered my dodgy ankle then kept slipping when I kicked it over. Had to leave it ticking over the rest of trial. What's up? Idle gear ? Anything else, easy fix? Anyone shed some light? Regards, Ian
  16. As title, What does it require? I have bike registered, a bolt on battery horn, a legal number plate. Insurance, Irc tyres on, brakes all good, clutch fine, Anything else? Can I take to get a pass? Ian
  17. Well, I said 2k bit of under estimation, but as with most people I will not use it on road week in week out so need to make it cost effective to ride the trials I want to do. It's under a classic insurance policy.
  18. Hi, I'm looking to get fantic 240 on road, I have docs coming to me, does anyone know the most competitive insurance co to call? I've not had road insurance for a while, but obviously have a bike licence! Thought I will do some normandale s etc. Regards Ian
  19. Another brill trial, this time at burycliffe, near Elton Matlock, seem to get good weather for all of Paul's events, have you a connection to someone up there?? Anyway thanks for a great event, good turnout as well...bonus! Regards, Ian
  20. Hi, Does anyone have any info on where you can find these elusive shocks, site has been down for weeks!! Is there an importer? or shop that has them? regards, Ian
  21. Hi Paul, yes was riding ok there, only on single figures when disaster struck!! Like riding Fantic, as you know, but it ain't half been trying!! Since I put that reed valve engine in, it been a hassle, mrs says I should have left alone with the 301 engine in, don't like to agree but prob right! When it goes well its bloody brill though! See you at burycliffe, hopefully with a good bike, no plugs maybe....need some other cycle parts, c&s etc but just got to get it going right first! Ian
  22. Hi guys, It's a ZEM stator plate, I have a Steve Goode replacement cdi, and fitted a nos, pick up and source coil, from Steve kenny, aka, PEMS of Rochdale. Given up now and sent stator off to West Country Windings! Ian
  23. Hi, I'm having a right game with my reed valve motor, replaced cdi, source coil and pick up, still rides then stops after a while. No spark. Think stator?? How much to get done at West Country Winding? Looked at a total new system from Electrex, in Oxford, not cheap though!
