  1. Ok just ordered a lithium battery for the 9v easy start, got iridium plug coming as well....

I know you have had a Ossa for a while (Canada280) do you have any tips on starting technique ? i've had loads of different advice but still not great on firing up!!

Been out Sat/Sun and last night, bike is mega, prob best trials bike i have ever ridden, but the starting is a bit of an achilles heel....!!  :wall:   :suicide:

    Regards,

    Ian

  2. Not sure what you mean much maligned?? For what? I have only rode one for a couple of hours and regard it as one of the best trials bikes I've even ridden, with an unbelievable motor, perfect for a trials bike. I've no affiliation to Ossa at all, in fact it's in for repair at mo, but sometimes shi@ happens to all the marques. We all know that!!!

  3. Hi TC OSSA riders,

Went out Saturday for quick praccy with son on TR280 all good nice and smooth power, went great, rode trial Sunday three quarters of way through, engine got very noisy, finished ok.

Fired up when back, noisy, tried later today, (Monday) noisy! went round my mechanic to ask about it, seemed a lot quieter??

He said sounds good, i rode it, but not right, i can tell!! let him have a ride he agreed, says could be loose crank end nut??

anyone shed any light on this? it seems sort of rough, not as smooth as it was, course feeling??

Never felt like it would stall before, but now does??

    Ideas??

  4. Hi been to man 17, hipwell trial today, brill effort from all involved ! Weather bit damp, to say the least!!

After the 17 section, my fantic kicked back, knackered my dodgy ankle then kept slipping when I kicked it over. Had to leave it ticking over the rest of trial.

What's up? Idle gear ? Anything else, easy fix?

    Anyone shed some light?

    Regards,

    Ian

  5. Another brill trial, this time at burycliffe, near Elton Matlock, seem to get good weather for all of Paul's events, have you a connection to someone up there??

Anyway thanks for a great event, good turnout as well...bonus!

  6. Hi Paul, yes was riding ok there, only on single figures when disaster struck!! Like riding Fantic, as you know, but it ain't half been trying!! Since I put that reed valve engine in, it been a hassle, mrs says I should have left alone with the 301 engine in, don't like to agree but prob right! When it goes well its bloody brill though!

See you at burycliffe, hopefully with a good bike, no plugs maybe....need some other cycle parts, c&s etc but just got to get it going right first!

  7. Hi, I'm having a right game with my reed valve motor, replaced cdi, source coil and pick up, still rides then stops after a while. No spark.

Think stator?? How much to get done at West Country Winding?

Looked at a total new system from Electrex, in Oxford, not cheap though!
