  1. may 2015 is a long way off. for a new comer on a bantam i'd be applying but expecting not to get an entry pre 2018. from your location i d be getting down to poachers who run plenty of p65 trials or take a trip on the m62 to any yorkshire classic event ( 19the jan is the first round of the 2014 champs so all the best bikes will be out including about a dozen bantams..) just ask any YCMCC bantam rider and the hat full of others who are building bikes what you need and who can get/make if for you
  2. not the first by a long stretch still battling over an AJS!!
  3. there might be an office in Aberdeen tomorrow a pound to a penny it wont be there in a fortnight.. as well as the dating cert you ll need a NOVA 1 from HMRC ( re import taxes at point of import).. enjoy! ho ho ho as a point of interest i looked up if / when aberdeen might close.. it CLOSED in October.. sorry.. and all other office will have closed by.. last friday.
  4. hens teeth spring to mind and rocking horse do dah.. eblag searches may be your friend. one or two guys ride them in long distance trials so try thier forums/facbook sites as well
  5. swapped ou the original rear brake arm on my 200 ( the pinch at the bottom fractured to add to the one sided mount at the other end) so whipped one off my 301 which was a straight swap. also put some locktite on the bolt on the kickstart to stop that coming loose . cleaned the plug and added some fresh oil to the gearbox.. over the holidays it ll have a deep service and an MOT set for 2014..
  6. well if the c15 rider at 7.54 were to ride at a Yarkshire or red rose trial he d be fived all day long if he 'rode' like that..
  7. cheers.. good to know someone always has the answer on here
  8. what length shockers for mr pickerings finest and any ideas on spring lb'S for a lad whose eaten all the pies on more than one occasion..
  9. the sliders need to come out.. traditionally there may or usually may not be a nut inside the slider to get on to if not and even if there is i use a broom handle.. ram it in then turn your nut on the outside and all will be sweetness and light.. ( that reads a little like those haynes manuals where it says 'pull apart'
  10. i have white 301 with pink paw prints.. was this std?
  11. because when you say useful you mean'' performs well enough so that i do as well on it as any other brand'' so that means you have to pay at least as much as nany other brand and as Honda company policy is 4t only that adds to the costs thus 6k. it isnt cheap and yet is suspect they dont make a penny from them..
  12. all you could wish for and more.. google translate is your friend.. http://www.fanticmotor.asso.fr/r02.htm
  13. Just come across a date clash with this years SSDT that may impact accomadation availability in and around Fort William. The British Downhill Mountain Bike championships are been held on the final saturday of SSDT week at Ben Nevis. They ll be a couple of hundred riders plus followers add in the spectators etc and B&B wise it might be a tight squeeze.. As old Fred Pontin used to say '' Book early!''
  14. the secret with newbies is ride what you can.. there nothing at stake so have a good look at the section if you /she fancy a go then do so if you dont want to do it ride on by..
  15. i ve had plenty of stuff from dc classics in the past and its all good gear.
  16. save time money and hassle... nip down your local trials dealer get something of the appropriate length from a modern bike and change the bearings/ internal spacer as appropriate.. job done
  17. i recently bought a good running 301 with the express intention of splitting it for the engine having ridden the thing though i'd frankly be mad not to spend some time and a little cash on it to make a rideable bike that will not lose a penny of value. there are already classes to ride the thing and no water means simples, two specialised suppliers and decent interweb information means for very little money a bike can be aquired and run.
  18. dvla is changing on a BIG way. by the end of the year there will no longer be the opportunity to register a vehicle locally. virtually all local dvla offices are closing and already those that are still open are simply referring thier workload to swansea. in manchester they will no longer issue a v5 on the same day as reciept of an application. there is currently no process for claiming the v5 for a vehicle using just the engine or frame number..
  19. they will only re issue if it has been taxed since 1983. you ll have to demonstrate what the frame and engine numbers are and what the reg no. was. it ll cost 25 quid. before applying you can check what its 'status' is via the dvla website
  20. i always sell from my police station car park.. buyers can take or leave it i dont care.. full cctv coverage loads of cop cars etc ..
  21. i agree with lineaway , most later twinshocks have 5 some even 6 gears so making that 1st ultra low shouldnt be an issue..however a couple of caveats .. too big a rear sprocket and it ll spin up very easy too low a front sprocket and it ll be pulling wheelies everywhere.. balance is the key 11 seems about right on the front and 46 good for the back.
