Thanks for sending me the video.
Looks quite easy as he does it.
It might take me a little bit of practice, like a milion years!

Great looking parts.
Hope the rest off the bike turns out just as nice.
Good luck with the rebuild, i asume, and enjoy the rides.

Hello outhere,
Since today it's official,i absolutly love my Scorpa SY 250.
In the evening i went out to the trial grounds at Arnhem, this is a lot off lose sand with almost the grip off soap.
After trying out a few tricks some experienced riders gave me, like hangin realy low in your bike for stability it suddendly went click!
Now i can turn it on a dime and stand still with her, it's realy crazy.
What a bike, i can't believe that a few weeks ago i was looking out for a Gas Gas as my favourite bike.
Next step for me is climbing hazzard like trees and rocks or in our case here in Holland concrete blocks.

I have to leave my 305 in the shed for a while i'm afraid because off an injury to my wrist.
At the moment i can only ride for half an hour or so, the front break is a problem.
Hope to ride it again in about 2 weeks time at the D-Cup meting at Leopoldshohe in Germany.
They have a class for A/C mono's this tear!
-
They mean from top.
You can set it as low as you need to.
I am a somewhat relaxed rider and in my 305 i use the 1st from top because otherwhise the engine is running to rich and it will oil its sparkplug.
Also when that is the problem you can use a hotter plug, i use a NGK BP5ES.
-
Overhere in Holland we have some one who build a 305 engine in a 240 frame.
Frome what i have heard it was no problem, but he used a aftermarket exhaust, i believe it was a WES system.
-
I personly believe this no stop thing kills the trial sport in the end.
Not only do we have to change the way we build a section but it will look like a race!
Iff Valentino Rossi gets to old to race on a circuit, he can start in trials, it's almost the same sport in a couple of years.
The basics off our sport is control off the bike and being able to stop to prepare and set up for a hazard is the ultimate level off control.
So what iff it doesn't look sexy for tv?
Make the sport interesting again scrap the no stop rules and the time limit!
-
I would like to thank you all for the dayly updates as we cannot follow the ssdt on tv overhere.

Hey Scott,
In my 305 i am using a NGK BP5ES plug.
But you wrote you took the carb off and dismanteld it, if i were you i would check if i put it together correctly before i changed the plug.
What you write about a white spark, thats ok, it means your ignition and your plug are ok.
What i read is that your plug is wet?
If that is so it means your engine is getting to much fuel.
So it seams to me that the plug isn't your problem but your carburator.
I've had the same problem with my 305 once, the cure was lowering the needle one step, you can put it in it's lowest position without anny problems.
Also there is a small hose going over from left to right on the Déllorto carb, i have heard from people when this hose is leaking it can cause starting problems and your bike won't idle properly.
goodluck and let us know if the problem is soulved.

Hello Wizbang,
Good choice going for a Scorpa.
I also am recently new to the world of Scorpa, i've got mine for about 3 weeks now.
The advice i got from people overhere in Holland is, when you don't work the engine hard run it on a mixture of 100 to 1!
That's 50 ml off oil on 5 liters of gas (98 octane).
It seems they are verry sensetive when you run your mix to rich, the exhaust port and system gets realy messy with oil.
Also regularly clean your airfilter as with all trialbikes.
But most important ride it and enyoy your time on the bike.
-
Thats a great looking bike.
And the 5 miles of Hell looks great to!
I wish we could do a stint like that in our realy small country.
Thanks for the tip i think i will try it on my Scorpa to.
I have to agree with you, i only have my 2006 Scorpa for 2 weeks no and i realy fell in love with it.
-
Hello Jon,
I also bought me a Scorpa recently.
Mine is a 2006 moddel.
I think you will like it verry much, i know i do!
They are realy smooth but have power enough and they turn like crazy, compared to a Fantic 305.
When you look on the internet you can find a parts list and a owners manual for the Scorpa SY 250.
Just type the list or manual and let Google do all the work!
Regarding the rear shock,
There should just be the bolt trough the lower mounting off the shock and two spacers between the shock and the swingarm mount.
When you remove the nut you should be able to take out the bolt easely, maybe you just have to lift your swingarm sligthly to give it some play.
I wish you the best off luck with your project and hope you and your wife will enjoy your bike for manny years.

I own a somewhat later Fantic 305.
It was my first trialsbike, absolutly love it.
She always starts and is realy smooth and powerfull enough for a beginner.
This is the 242 cc motor with a readvalve.
