Had the same thing with All Balls better than it was but still movement I guess they are cheap for a reason,my road race bikes had zero free play and a jewel like movement so I don't thin there should be any really.
-
Anymore than 60% of the free length adjustment then you need a stronger spring rate, hopefully you realise just winding the spring up has no effect on the spring rate.
-
No end of problems with some I've seen and they don't even sell them with a working clutch, like most Italian products they look great but are nailed together by Luigi whilst having a fag.
-
Betas aren't made very well are they so worth a punt on the TRS.
-
Fair play to dadof2 he's caught a few in the keep net with this wind up.
-
Why on earth would they do that.
-
I stopped road racing 18 months ago but to give you an idea of how cheap trials is here is a typical cost for the one day meetings I did with EMRA.
Entry £155
Tyres £450
Fuel £40
Oil £25
Granted winning a big race paid +£400 but most people don't win and on top there would be routine replacement of parts and if you crash you might be looking at hundreds of pounds worth of damage.
Trials is cheap as chips.
-
That sir is fecking awesome stuff, bravo
-
You should offer your services to motoGP teams they spend millions trying to sort suspension out when you could do it easily.
-
Totally disagree with that, suspension is far more critical on a road race bike and infinitely more difficult to get right than on a trials bike.
-
Very much doubt it's a dry clutch, surely it should be obvious.Fill the tank with ball bearings and diesel and agitate until you are happy it's clear, flush with petrol.
-
Yeah going to need stiffer springs front and back, still at least with a Mont there's no repair bills.
-
Cranking up the preload or getting a heavier spring do two different things, increasing preload does not change the spring rate at all.
-
Unless you are at the upper or lower end of typical weight I'd say the stock suspension probably has wide enough adjustment.I imagine the manual has the correct sag settings for your 4rt this is where you should start,if you've got to wind the preload in or out massively to get this correct you need different springs.
Easy enough to measure what travel you are using most of the time with cable ties, the rest is probably down to personal preference.
-
Try opening the throttle a bit.
-
Build quality is light years ahead of the euro rubbish some of whom are embarrissingly crap.
-
I have had 1 side break on mine twice, second time I got it welded with a triangular piece of ally from the hanger too the crossbrace.Never had a problem since then,it's a simple strip down I just took the wheel and swinger off and dropped it off at the welders. No more Ti pegs for me though.
-
Ok so I have used the 6 degrees of separation as I know a couple of HRC employees from my RR days.Bou is < 150k from Honda, sure he has some personal sponsors and other deals on top.
Some posters need a reality check, there are good motoGP riders I know of making less than 250k do you really think Honda are paying that or more to win a WC that 99% of the population have never even heard of.
The motorcycle market in general has been in decline for the last 10 yrs salary wise,I know a motoGP rider that was making €1m in what is now moto2,he's now on 250k in moto gp,if Honda wanted to buy cheap titles the world lawnmower racing champion would be on about £2m.
-
Pressure washer full blast for me,no exhaust plug.Fire it up to working temp afterwards and douse with WD,lube the chain job done.
Mind I have a 4rt I wouldn't do that with one of those European bikes.
-
In my road racing days we've done a fair bit of testing of fuels, inappropriate octane ratings for an engine have a negative benefit although they might be better for polar bears.
-
As has been said the tank should not pressurise so there's a venting issue. As for premium fuel unless an engine really needs it and I doubt a 4rt in it's low state of tune does you'll get no benefit.
-
Changing jets is not rocket science, hang on it's EFI which should autoadjust.
Does not inspire confidence nor do Dabills comments.
-
That really is dreamland even a cursory look at the trials market should tell you that.
-
Marketing? Most people don't even know what a trials bike is let alone who Toni Bou is.
How many 600s did Honda sell off the back of MVDMs world title?A lot more than 4Rts get sold and for a lot more profit and he didn't get anywhere near 500k for the title.
I knew what a few riders got paid more or less in the mid 80's when sales were way above todays' market and anything above 150k tops today is inconceivable unless the Japanese like throwing money away which they don't.
-
How on earth would Bou make that?Honda aren't paying their WSBK riders 500k if they win the title, there is no way they'd pay that to win the WTC it makes no economic sense.
Trials is a relatively tiny market it's hard to see there being much more than half a dozen riders actually making any money from it,logically you put Bou at around 100k and work back sharply salary wise from there. The days of Spanish fag money are long gone, even Bou doesn't appear to be overflowing with corporate sponsors.
