    Either! Seriously, the flywheel you said the flywheel had been replaced? The shaft taper and the flywheel taper need matching exactly. This was done in the plant and new / different flywheels or flywheels which have turned at high speed due to a woodruf key shearing are no longer matched to the shaft taper. go and get some valve lapping past, or grease and a handful of sand (only kidding) and lap the flywheel, without the key onto the shaft. i.e line it up approx and rotate back and forth 15 degrees with lapping paste in between. You will see the shaft take on a dull grey colour. If this is only 1mm or so wide, the flyheel will only sit on the shaft that much. Lapp away until the band is nice and wide. Then clean the paste from shaft and flywheel and screw it up nicely with a new woodruf key. Away you go.......

  3. yes and of coure the later section. but be careful, even if the barrel will fit the kroo clutches were the first hydraulik ones are they were and are cr!p this is why nobody wants to buy them. they never was a fix...except to change cases and go cable pull
  4. The section bottom end is...but I could not get a 305 cylinder on a kroo bottom end. maybe a one off? i dont know
  5. yeah that the mechanic charlie...... seriously though, its all a matter of taste. in the 2006 Jersey two day, I did not do very well in the easy route on a 340....bob gent won it the hard route, for me very hard, on a slightly modded 200 fanny ditto this years exmoor three day. Me:Not very good on the girlie route....hard route won by ian baker on a tlr 200. I like biluding the 340s, more poke than anybody really needs, just like em. I started because 240 engine parts are becoming very hard to get. 2nd gear pinions, clutch baskets etc. the later engines, even the 241/243 all offer cheaper parts.... Either of the guys above could beat me riding a FS1E!
  6. I never said the 240 was the best twinshock ever made..... the best twinshock that was never made is my 340.... in white ... in red or black
  7. yes internally. the 303 has some fins cut for the 303 exhaust but can be used lee

  12. not sue. i think it has a 92 main and 42 ish pilot. Also the circlip is probably 1 clip down from the top. i havnt owned a 200 for several years now...maybe ride better if i did. Bilco, whats the score?

  14. Clive Tricky once wrote a couple of books, tuning the a-series and how to midify your mini...I did it he spent many hours testing flow and filtration. A foam element is crap for filtering and flows a lot of air. Trumpets as per fantic help flow by reducing side effects maximising flow. The best air filter for an a-series IS from k&N. Filters a lot and flows more air than foam. Since Open (K&N - type) filters in a trial bike are impractical and I cant buy the inserts (glenn where da ya get em from) i oil my filter with spray on oil. very littlle . I wash regularly and then re-oil. The white grease is a good idea maybe but my engine rebuilds are expensive and I want to protect that... pay your money and take your choice.... L

    if you get this far ok then the coil will either be round metal 8dabnsi9 or red/blue/black plastic wire it like this as appropriate

    I assume its a minarelli motor? check black to red, should be about 400 ohms black to green should be about 45 ohms. Any where close will be ok to start it. If the stator is very old, it may break down when hot, but will restart when cold. then it needs rewinding....fleebay The insulation falls off the green more than the rest. Check this first If the green wire to gropund is open then the trigger is broke....bill pyes yer man Pullers are available from steve goode
