Hi Gav,
if its the section motor you will need a puller. Big bolt onto end of crank, 3 arms eeach with a screw going into the side case under the flywheel. No other way I finx!

I am thinking of making a 650 mile drive to ride the 2 day classic trial on dartmoor on the 8th and 9th of september. What is the situation on foot and mouth? Is it contained? Are all venues running as planned? Anybody from here going to ride also?

Its all a question of numbers. I asked Dick to make me a silencer for my 125 caballero. He needs about 20 before it makes financial sense. And then its not sure it will work. Dick spent large amounts of money making press tools for the 4RT honda and it took two attemps to get the noise down and the power up. (He did dyno test the bike in spain to prove the results!!)
The mail address is correct, speak to him nicely, send him your silencer maybe which he would need to cut open and then order 20. he is a business man.....

it is def NOT original. i spoke to mr Agrati himself on this one...fantic never made such a bike. A strada clyinder/motor will fit and the 241 gearbox would fit in the cases if you wanted. You get raod porting though even if the gearbos is from a trials bike. Nice shot though.....
See also my 240 with a 305 engine and section forks. its one of the best bikes fantic never made....

while it seems to have dropped to thius, er, lower level....i dont think any of em would look as good in a mono as that scotisch byrd......LOL

you got it exactly right. one wire to earth...on the frame and not the handlebar, otherwise you will wear the head bearings o

heres a bild from chris darras fantic side. I would change the main to 95 unless you ride a lot on the road. I would also use a smaller pilot jet (42?)unless the exhaust has recently been burnt out and repacked

My Falcons are the best shocks i have ever had. Super smooth. They have lost their damping after 6 days trialing. did i do something wrong?

the leak you describe would make it run weak, not rich...if you dont want to pay lots for a new piston, nikosil plating, mains etc etc, get a rubber (BILL PYE OR BOB WRIGHT MOTORCYCLES) and then strip the carb as r2 says. Chances are the o ring on the cold start jet is knackered (Lid off carb, long thingy in brass in one corner with an o-ring on it) and this will cause the plugs to foul. A complete carb overhaul kit will cost about 15 quzid. I took my kit to a bearing suppliers and coppied all the o rings in the kit 5 times each for another fiver. May want to think about it.
It may take three attemps to replace the o ring without tearing it...a real bitty. push it over with the slot 90 degrees to the push direction, if ja see wot i mean!!!

Bas is also here on trials central. I would have found a new frame; Bas, strripped, cut, straightened and rewelded etc etc. Hes modded the exhaust like a works 303. You cant se it on his site but hes actually done 2!!!! Bits he didnt have he made....longer than sourcing as used part but better than new. titanium kickstart etc
I will be nice to him and see if number 2 can come down from den helder to frankfurt!!!
Hi bas! want to tell us more? Is "my" 303 running yet?

dunlop have stopped making the tube type. bad luck for us twin shockers as the x11s are expnsive

yep, had forgotten that. The clutch side main bearing is lubed by the gearbox oil on the 240. they stopped this again on the 241...... And Gasgas thought the pro engine was special 20 years later.
Peter, I also have a 240 with Motoplat ignition. Do you rekon this is a late version...seal change in place?

Yep head off. Carb airbox boots are availbale readily and crank seals, try steeve goode, bill pye or the guy on R2Ws website

Changing the reeds will not change the mixture in any way. if it woz gud before, it will be with the new reeds. New reeds may give more power which means more air fuel mix is is getting into the combustion chamber. The pre-mixing as itr were is done upstream IUf the airfilterm size, inlet tract etc etc is the same nowt will have changed. A plug chop, ie full gas in forth will only tell you if the main jet is correct. Dont gas it and roll to a stop. Hit the kill switch and clutch at the same time on a long road wide open throttle uphill, say 60 seconds long. Coast to a stop. If the plug is grey you need a bigger main jet, if its white you will melt a piston on WIDE OPEN THROTTLE:
In reality, no trials bike is driven on WOT for more than a few seconds, thats why we dont mlt piston often OR, if you drop the bike for say 30 seconds on WOT, it WILL die.
The pilot jet and needle are what you need to worry about but this can only be done subjectivly assuming you have no rolling road. If you just change the reeds , dont mess with it!!!
