I've looked at the regs for twin shock trials it states all bikes must have rear twin shocks,also states the bike must have frame number for the model to prove its a twin shock,as my is 1985 and bike is stamped 403 and shares the same name as the twin because it was a proto type,only 1986 they called it 266 ,so both bikes were manufactured at same time ,reckon if I stick 2 shocks on it they be understanding technically it a modified 300 pro same bike but moved on , I got a 300 pro frame just in case there's no sense of humour

Thanks for the info,i got a 300 twin frame today to swap over to play on still got all mono bits safe it will be cheaper to to with linkages bearings to pay for and rear shock,looked on forums at frame no, there no letters in it ,on the neck it got,fm403 #34007375# forks r next

To be honest I got the bike on eBay I thought the bike worth more than it is ,was told its a 85 ex works proto1 got suckered I think, I will think about swapping over frame and so,thanks

Hi,I got a 85 301 drum brake bike I'm looking for forks I don't know which ones ,in reality is this bike worth doing up or is it for scrap and get half tidy fantic ,are these made up bikes or genuine ?i will post a few pics any info on parts or where to get them or scrap it will be a help thanks

It was made with a front drum some other member showed me pictures,it's on my past posts,the pic that was shown was a 301 1985 proto it's identical , what I did was take the wheel off and doing so hit the axle pin out with out undo the the clamp bolts snapped it right off wot a tit ,I need another set of forks to fit they were both shot any way, do all drum front forks fit from all fantics.

I've been looking at older posts are air cooled mono ,drum brake fantics becoming more popular.are they replacing twin shocks? Like this photo ,is there a new competition class?

Hi wobbler it's always had drums I snapped the bottom of the fork and need a replacement leg it's a 1985 301 proto 266 I think ,what other model will fit. Thanks

I just got into the mood of doing my bike up,now I stripped it, the foot pegs have been lowered,why? and why does it have both drum brakes when others have front disc.all I get is project 1, and frame that is different. I found frame num.are these bikes worth it or shall I buy another fantic to play on and keep it for parts?

I have a 266 or 301 or 403 mono air cooled, drum brake fantic 1985 it got mods to the frame which are different to other similar bikes ive looked at, but a fellow member pointed out a photo that thieryy mitchaud rode one in the 1985 scotish trials I know air cooled mono are coming popular, people say its no good in than class, any ideas or shall I cut it up to make a twin shock or restore it?... thanks jon

yes I just seen them thanks.day off tomorrow so im having a day working on the bike so I will compare them before bidding as the bike has a drum brake,i think its a mixture of a few bikes put together by last owner,thanks for the link thanks,jon

hi, ive snapped holding clamp on my left fork leg, can it be welded or repaired as I cant find replacement. model fm301,403,or 266 all ideas welcome,thanks.jon

night of searching the web its called fm266 I looked on Europe pages with translate,good stuff all techno info cant get over how light see is seeing its almost 30,cant work out about the drum brake,day off today so im off for a pint

I cringe when I look at it,every seal has perished,bearings all but gone,keep me busy I think.it needs full rebuild any ideas what year?also the best place to get parts also I been looking on net is it worth twin shock it, im new to trials so any help will be appreciated thanks
