  2. I've considered shortening my trailer but the lads i've spoken to all said when the bike is sumped you lose the suspension for tying down. Therefore the bike tends to bounce on the sump and not ride on the trailer so well. Stand the trailer up on a wheel or hang it on a wall if you can before you shorten it.

  6. Had my 4rt since August. I ride most weekends and practice when i can. To date i've put Hebo footrests on and bought a spare air filter changed oil and filter and gaskets and o rings, standard service items. My results have improved beyond my wildest dreams and i still smile every time i ride it. Have to agree on slippery banks once you forget its a 4 stroke your doomed but if you get your weight right back and be smooth with the throttle it'll find grip anywhere. I wouldn't have anything else first bike i've owned that has all the steel bolts going into aluninium housings greased before i got it home. Gas Gas should do that to their front caliper mounting bolts. I'm off to buy a new rear tyre

    seen my mate trying to get the carb off his sy250 looked a nightmare kinell is it the stators that were the electrical problem ? any ideas if they are cured ? thanks for info on covers :hat:

    Do you still have to remove the flywheel cover and clean/dry out after every wet ride? Are the carb flooding problems cured? Are the electrics sorted? Son is considering buying one it's between a beta and a scorpa and i can see i'll be left doing the maintainance

  11. Move the gear lever up on the splines so its above the horizontal then use your heel to change gear You guys want autos like your cars :santawink:
  12. Once they get out of the living room I'm only jealous The air filter housing can fill pretty quickly in the wet and its amazing how the mud gets in and blocks the drain in the box, I used to take my drain out did more harm than good in the winter

  14. Got a beta 50cc Auto and the kickstart keeps locking up. On strip down the return spring has disengaged itself. I can't work out how any ideas or anyone suffered the same?
  15. Besides which GASSERS RULE <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Why'd you change from Sherco to gasser Dabster? From what I have gathered from your posts you were a Bulto man then Sherco's I can recall your comments dating back to when the 4rt was launched and you said you enjoyed riding it and thought it was good can't recall you saying the same about Gas Gas though
  16. My 4rt has burnt holes in two sets of riding pants and i can't work out how. Holes are on my right leg below my knee and above my boot The exhaust doesn't seem to go anywhere near unless i slide off sideways to touch the ground with my throttle hand. Anyone else doing this?

Pleased to here you got your 4rt Lewis Be as smooth as you can with the throttle don't rev it like a two stroke and you will be amazed at the grip it will find for you i keep getting to the bottom of steep slippery climbs and thinking there's no way i'll get up there then i feed the throttle in gently and up she goes really gives you confidence enjoy
  18. Taken John B's advice as i'm not riding the Mont too consistantly thought if i went to a 200 i would improve then decided if i went 50 auto i'd be transformed
  19. Thanks guys the replies on here are so fast and accurate i've just got a rev 50 minitrial seconhand 1st day out today. The kickstart siezed after a couple of hours turned out to be a circlip on the kickstart shaft had come loose behind kickstart and the kickstart gears misaligned themselves hence new oil needed

The trial like everything else associated with trials central will be very friendly and i'm sure if you go you will learn far more than you would attending one of your centre events everyone on here is very keen to help each other in any way. Look at the forums you can get advice on just about everything! If i can I'll be there come on you southern softies stop whinging about travelling and make a commitment
