  1. Physco Was it your first Scott? Did you finish in time?
  2. There was 15 riders to go quicker than Knight. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Did JR Sunt go quicker than David Knight ? How many of my predicted 6 were faster Perce?
  3. So i'll be able to warm my hands up on it this winter then
  4. Out playing today cos our trial was cancelled Anyway i didn't have any gloves on after about an hour i stopped and put my hands on the fuel tank. It was very warm you could hold your hands on it but it was hot enough to worry me. Anyone noticed this on their 4rt?
  5. How similar to a trials bike is an enduro bike? Look quite different to me they sit down and rest on them for a start. I reckon at least 6 trials riders will be faster than Knight probably more Phillipson, Jarvis, Dabbill, Sunt, Aldridge and Amos

    Montesa

you shut the 4rt off in a section and you seem to have all the time in the world to gather yourself. it stays on line better than anything i have ever ridden the suspension is so well matched

    New 4rt

Alan I have only replaced the footrests themselves left the hangers standard. I forgot to mention when i first got my bike i kept standing on the rear brake pedal while riding particularly after going up steps i have seen a pedal bent to ease the problem but for some reason it doesn't happen any more and i don't know what i've done I've had excellent service from sandifords too so i'm really happy all round with the bike
  13. If your oil is clear on start up ride for a while without going through any water if the oil is cloudy it'll be the pump oil seal.If not go through some water and if it's cloudy then check the clutch cover casing for water ingress. probably worth changing the shaft at the same time it's not expensive but they have been known to wear

    New 4rt

I haven't changed anything but the footrests. Put a set of hebos on The clutch is definately a bit like an on off switch but to be honest i got used to it really quickly hardly touch it in sections and its one less thing for me to worry about. The 315 clutch lever / master cylinder assembly is larger than the 4rt holding more fluid and gives a more progressive feel to the clutch.Your dealer might change it for free at PDI as the 4rt one fits other makes so they should be able to sell it as a new unit. My dealer removed the lights and the restrictors in the electrics for me. I've left the exhaust as is and it has plenty of power for me. Everyone says change the gearing. JR Sunter said he left his as standard and again Al the Spanner at Whites said leave it as standard and see how you get on with it first. To be honest i find it spot on as is and some of the lads riding 4rt's have changed back to original gearing. The tickover is still at 1800 and i find that fine too. At the moment my only concern is the bike is giving me too much confidence and i feel i'm riding some things above my ability. The suspension is the best i've ridden even nicer than the Beta's front and back work together really well and soak up everything it really stays on line over rocks. When you kick it over don't let the kickstart lever return on its own or it may cause some internal damage Hope you get as much pleasure from yours as i am from mine
  15. stick your air filters down your trouser leg before washing your pants. Stops the missus finding them and they come out lovely and clean too

    No Clutch

you need to replace the shimmed plates in the clutch if you take the clutch basket off the bike and measure the total thickness you can adjust the thickness to inside the tolerances by replacing one or maybe two plates they're relatively cheap from gas gas uk look on john stoodleys tech pages on gas gas usa site and it will give you the clutch measurements this topic has also been covered on here a few times if you look back through the pages my clutch got really heavy and after changing the plates it felt like i was pulling air
  17. I've heard that if you take your foot off the kickstart lever at the end of its stroke, at the footrest, and allow the lever to fly back it can damage the casings
  18. where are u from Mischief? Gas gas dealers in the uk are very helpful as is gas gas uk if your in GB give them a call
  19. I'm not having any problems with finding nuetral but sometimes on top of a step or unweighting the footpegs i hit the rear brake. Anyone got any pics of rear brake mods ?
  20. Had my 4rt for three weeks now. Heard different ideas about the clutch but i was told to percivere and i must admit i'm used to it and don't give it a second thought now and it's really good for dumping the power in and lifting the back wheel
  21. I thought you lived there and knew how hard it was
  22. My gas gas pro 02 fell over off the side stand . I didn't notice and when i got back the air filter housing was full of fuel. It's a common problem with the delorto but the bike will not start straight away as it's flooded
  23. Tried to change avatar to a Mont but haven't figured it out yet. I was lucky enough to test a new 05 gasser and the 4rt last January when the 4rt came out. White Bros in Darlington supplied the bikes for the test. My 02 gas gas 250 was great. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I've traded it in after 3 years and the depriciation works out at a measley
  24. I'm collecting my 4rt today I,ve had the master cylinder changed to the larger 315 one and I'm going to fit some hebo footrests today during my set up. I've heard the standard bars are wider than renthals and some of you have moved footrest positions and changed gearlevers, rear brake pedals etc. Any chance of posting some pics or giving more detail on these mods please ?
