I'm a pussy and i play in a field. never ridden the Scott or the Scottish. Haven't been disrespectful to the Lady riders either mind. I just rode a centre trial and Kathryn Wardle and Rebecca Rennison were both riding. Both rode the hard course and both finished creditably and not last. Nothing against being last either i regularly am. I enjoy my riding and thats enough for me. The Lady/girl riders are all very capable riders and i think can only be good for the sport. the more the merrier. I don't ride the Scott or the Scottish as i don't think i'm fit enough for either and would not like to take someone who is fit enoughs place up.
  4. so..... are we all agreed on which week is next week Everyone i seem to speak to who maintains they don't want a 4rt says they are underpowered and an electricians nightmare Sour grapes or truth? i have not seen or ridden one yet so can not comment. personally i'm hoping for them to be a bit softer than the latest two strokes then perhaps they'll be more in tune with my delayed reactions
  5. Don't be too hard on yerself Boof
  6. It's interesting that you say the bikes aren't in the country Dabster. TMX reported that the bikes were at sandifords but not being released yet and that was prior to the Scott. A dealer i have spoken to also confirmed this. You are pictured sitting on one in Spain. Are they on general release there? Martin, thanks for the info on the frames. Are there any bikes in the US yet?

    4rt Delay?

The delay still can't be this 100 hour endurance test. If the bikes are in this country and not being sent out to dealers it surely must mean there is a mechanical problem. instead of a recall the modification will be carried out prior to the bikes being released to the public. At this rate i'll have retired from trials before i get a new mont 4rt
  8. I see the perms grown out Dabster

    Rear End

works gassers fit ohlins. might be worth getting a price for one of those before you fit another sachs
  12. Munch was wondering if you have your bike yet. Apparently Appleyards had them to test at Moto 1. sandifords had them at the Scott! My local dealer says it will now be next week before they appear? Wonder what the hold up is now
  13. Where did you test rid it at piggy?
  14. He He He Boofont just showed me in the article page
  15. I can't wait to not have to strip and clean my airbox and carb after every ride
  16. If it's on Nov 7th its called the little bear its a time and observation trial. A 'mini' Scott. I,ve never ridden that particular course but the format for time and observation usually means sections aren't to serious as you don't have time to stop and look
  17. In 1976 i was looking for my first new bike. I loved Bultacos they looked great, Mart rode one and nearly every one else. I couldn't ride one to save my life. Just couldn't get away with the riding position and the power delivery. The Montesa's at the same time were my second choice but in the end i bought an Ossa. I found i could ride things easier and it suited my limited ability better. Probably more forgiving and less harsh than the others. I'm hopeful the new Mont 4 stroke or Sherco 4 stroke may be similar. The Mont is now first choice because it's available first, has a lot of new technology i'm really impressed with, and will i'm sure be bombproof like the 315's. The Sherco, that i'm still thinking of as a Bulto, looks the nicest of all the bikes in my opinion but again i just cannot ride the two stroke as well as i can my Gas Gas. Every one keeps saying the more technology that goes into things the more there is to go wrong. Very true. But if we all listened and acted on that rubbish we'd be sitting at typewriters every night and driving cars with manual windows Now my thinking cap is back on in case the Sherco appears first! Who can carry out a 100 hour bench test the quickest, the Japenese or the Spanish? Not completely convinced the bench test is the reason for the hold ups.
  18. I'm off to fit a new tyre. No bead breaker No tyre soap No 'Fairy Liquid' No beader No hope?
  19. Todotrial have a list of scott results and some of the names are hilarious
  20. Very posh garage floor Dabster
  21. Sammy Miller and Bernie Schrieber have written in the past about practicing and the techniques they use. I'm just curious as to what everyone else does? Do you take flags and mark out sections? Do you start off difficult and make it easier? do you leave it alone ? do you start easy and make it harder? I have this stupid idea in my head that i haven't mastered anything unless i can clean it three times in succession, how dumb is that? sometimes i'm so knackered i'll never clean it again in a month of sundays I generally make the section then ride it, keep trying for that elusive clean. always try them in reverse too. My brain doesn't seem capable of altering them much once they're made. Some of them i've been trying for about a year and never cleaned them yet!
  22. Second hand Monts seem to be like hens teeth at the moment. They also seem to be holding a good second hand price
  23. Ian J did your friend buy from a reputable dealer? Nearly every one i have spoken to about Gas gas who bought one from White Bros has had a proper PDI and no problems other than general wear and tear. Are sherco, montesa and beta subject to grey imports too? Never seem to hear their dealer networks complaining about it.
  24. Two points Dabster Geordies do not have faults Whats myopic mean?
  25. and it only took you an hour and 33 minutes..... or did you ask someone
