  1. Thanks for all the reply's and great pics. I've had 3 4rt's just got an 08 and never had rear brake pedal problems despite all the rocks up here. I hit a rock and managed to punch a hole in my clutch casing with my rear brake pedal. The Billet pedal looked shorter than standard and obviously now i've seen the pics they look just the job. And Baldilocks when new pedal is in place you wil be first in the queue to try it then i won't be able to get you off my bike again. I feel a video coming on
  2. Anyone used a billet rear brake pedal? Are they shorter than standard and do they tuck in behind the clutch case?
  3. Whatever else you use, repsol,ATF etc your clutch won't be as smooth and it'll be more difficult to start in gear. Have you tried BVM for ELF ?
  4. I wouldn't put anything under sump or wedge the forks. My theory is with the forks compressed they are obviously trying to get back to normal position, therefore they're pulling against the tie downs keeping the straps taught. You use the bikes suspension against the straps to stop the straps working loose. If you wedge the forks with wood it'll be like tying a solid lump to the floor and its bound to bounce when you go over any bumps on the road
  5. Trailer, Rack Or van ? Have you anything under the sump? If its a trailer does it have suspension ? On a trailer we always put ratchet straps around bottom fork yoke, and tension till forks compress about 1" 2 straps to each bike Nothing under sump and we find the suspension on bike holds bike against straps they never move
  6. if you spread your thumb from your index finger you should see a small indent from thumb going back to wrist. This is called the snuff box ? ? apparently there is a small bone in there which is really difficult to diagnose if its broken or not and doesn't become apparent for some time after break, two weeks or more even on xray. If this bone isn't treated it dies and causes pain which may require surgery. I broke a wrist in summer 07 and was given this advice by the Doctor i saw. As always go and get it checked out properly it may save you time off the bike in the long run
  7. don't let the thought of Fellonmelug being here put you off Jon
  8. But are they set 10mm back. It doesn't say on their website
  9. Not wanting to seem ungrateful Andy But as Gordon did so well in the 'Little Bear' (the North East Centre's time and observation trial) could you get him an entry for the Scott as well
  10. Well Done Gordon Imrie on winning the 2007 Trials Central award. A very worthy winner and certainly from a North East Centre riders perspective Gordon has worked tirelessly to get results and future events posted as quickly as possible
  11. Great pictures Greeves A lot of North East of England riders in there Louis Bertorelli, Geoff Young, the Butterfields, Charlie hedley, Benny Form, Ken Oats, Ian Abbott Arthur Brown Ian harland Anyone know the venues? I don't by the way
  12. Try getting to the front......you might stay cleaner
  13. Had a close look at an 08 on Sunday. there are thick black plastic frame protectors, similar to Technosyl, on the frame as standard so they will be available to buy with a part number. They are shaped around the frame and look great cover exactly where your boots would rub. Whichever route you take some of those will add extra protection
  14. Why doesn't he just tidy his garage ! He could keep his 'pride and joy' and get 2 cars in then
  15. I'm confused........I know it doesn't take much Thought the Repsol had black bars and black silencer cover
  16. careful with your rear wheel spokes Nigel Mine had loctite on from the factory, had to soak them in WD40 for a few days to release it
  17. I can't tell the difference between my standard pipe and my Mitani pipe either. Blue bits on the mitani pipe look geat though
  18. If you'd fitted your crank bearings a bit quicker perhaps your tyre wouldn't have had time to go flat
  19. Buy a Montesa the clutch master cylinders are
  20. I'd love to hear a noise meter comparison between a standard beta 270 and a Montesa 4rt. Beta 270's have quite a bark
  21. Dan i wasn't going to bother but you talk such a load of crap If this guy is so keen to find out about specific problems on different brands why has he not posted in a general forum instead of four stroke? I'm all for free exchange of information. Have you asked yourself why the Muppet hasn't asked about Scorpa 'troubles' ? Is it only me that finds it strange he is determined to drag out 4rt 'troubles' ? He hasn't got one hasn't had one and has ordered a Scorpa DAN WAKE UP
  22. can't see the point of this thread other than to start rumours, or repeat them. Your obviously not looking to buy a bike as you have an 08 scorpa
  23. Can't remember what my clutch is like Couldn't get a certain hairless wonder off my MONTESA 4RT long enough for me to ride it. Baldilocks catchphrase whilst on a MONTESA " I'll just try that again"
