remember this is a yamaha engine. ever since the first ty250 came out they have produced engines that are considerably noise when it comes to piston slap. even a brand new one out of the shop would be noisey after five mins use.
from my experience it seems to be all normal unleaded fuels. they are using a prercentage of ethenol to make it more "green". i have been using super unleaded from sainsburys or shell v-power. this does not seem to be as volotile with the fibreglass tank on my bike.
im a big gasser fan having had a few. but my last one was a 02 pro and i was so dissapointed with it. the 04 has some improvements but i think they had nearly everything sorted on the 06 one onwards.
this is my 360. its in a 32a bottom end due to the machining. the 37a cases dont have enough meat on them and the machining breaks through the sides.

sadly this has been the problem for many years. clubs that run classic events do not seem to comunicate with each other to let them know when they are running events. some like scarborough, scottish, exmoor & sun inn have run on the same weekends for years.
maybe this sort of communication would prevent future clashes?
sometimes the prongs of the thermostat get some corrosion on too and dont make contact! spray a little wd40 and clean them. if not the stat need replacing!
der italian trials what is the reason for this interesting combination?
i had a 245 years ago and the back lug that clamped around the swing arm pivot had broke! i just chopped the back end off some newer watercooled casings and had them welded up!
having also been on the receiving end of corrosion to beta casings the main cause is the lack of antifreeze. water alone seems to cause the corrosion.
the casings do seem a little poor though. maybe they should look at different materials for these problematic area's?
no not heard anything yet. it's on the weekend of the 16th august according to the yorkshire classic club. pete remmington is the man to speak to regards the trial.
this would be the bike!

the barrel was developed by John Burns of Moto cross motors in oldham.
i bought a couple of the old michelin X1's and yes they are rubbish.
i contacted michelin and asked them to start reproducing them but they said use the tubeless tyres.
i suggest everyone emails them and complains! after all these tyre won countless championships and events over the years.
this is one of the greatest multi day events you can possibly ride.
the location is good (although its a shame they lost the other side of the valley!)
the pub is way too handy (yes you do go back in time when you enter!)
and the sections are good.
it all adds up to a great trial.
i've been going there for years (i count 15 now i think)
i had a TX200 and that was the most reliable bike i have ever had. this is the first modle to have the ally tank with they carried on making until 2001.
Dont worry! it seems to be happen everywhere. Tony Calverts only dab of the pre65 this year was a very obvious stop. but this is down to the observers discretion on the mark given. as long as everyone gets treated the same then it isn't that important really. just spoils it a little when you have a good no stop clean and someone gets away with stopping and starting for clean too.
All i can say is what a dissapointed i was with this trial. i was halfway down in the experts class and i managed to finish the trial before most of the gentelmen riders had even finished. there where too may riders waiting for the sections to ease up. some of the sections where so bad that even riding on my gasser i'd have struggled. the only thing i can suggest to improve this trial is a time limit. which with the riders setting off a minute intervals i thought would have been in place. i feel sorry for the observers who had to wait around all day for the hangers on to arrive. i'd like to see who where the last riders to finish. i bet they're all on very little marks.
mines in much better condition than that and i was expecting only about a grand for mine. only mine needs a bore and piston but thats it. think im realistic in my asking price.
alan wright of trico products had some plastic ones at last years ssdt.
i work on his stall up there and i remember seeing some. think they where made by delay products of spain.
you know the scorpa rider you mention. did he have a polished ally main fuel tank? i know one lad who had a custom made tank for his scorpa and i think he made that.
three things make me suspect its not genuine. 18 years back from now makes this bike a 1988 model which is later than the year they state of 1986. but as mentioned before the pinky didnt come out till 1990.
the other thing is the colour of the forks. the blue looks too light. i've had a pinky and im sure they werent that light.
and finally which i dont acually know due to the not being one on the bike i had. the disk guard looks wrong. even though it matches the seat. it looks more like a montesa 310 guard.
other than that if this is genuine then its a good buy! these bikes where bomb proof and i won many times on mine.
i remember seeing am airfix TY125/175 kit in a newsagents in blackpool years ago! i nagged at my dad to buy it me but he never did. i keep meaning to go back and see if they've still got it. i doubt it though. its over 10 years ago!
having observerd at both the scottish pre65 and world rounds i can say it goes on with the big guns alot. the funniest example which i can only just remember because i was "young" then was the Tarres entourage. they actually carried little rocks in the bum bags and rucksacks to stabilise sections and create kickers. they seemed to get away with it.
as for the pre65 side all of the mentioned names plus many more are guilty. makes me laugh though when i see the scores and all that work actually didnt help them at all.
i've been looking for a sy too. around about the same amount as you're looking to spend and i have to agree. theres a lot of tatty dogs out there. i've given up on that idea now. too many tatty examples out there especially in dealers. just keep looking in the classifieds in tmx.
