  2. Give John Lampkin imports a call. they have been the beta importers for years now and might be able to sort you out.
  3. BB! you're in the right part of the country though if you need fantic parts though as Frankfield Fantic (Bill Pye) is only at Great Ayton. which is up near you. He has most fantic parts if you need anything.

    Txt Vs Pro

i got rid of my 2001 txt to get a 2002 pro. its a good bike but like mentioned before it has a few niggly faults which in newer models have been ironed out. still if you want a good reliable bike the txt is the better buy. last ones they made where in 2003 although i remember a 2004 model but i think it was just costmetics on a old batch of 2003's
  6. Alec??? Get it right!!! Alan Wright!! lol!!

    Tyres

if you're going for michelin's make sure they're tube type ones. the tubeless have a softer compound which clings to rocks better. but the wear faster that tubed ones.

    Tyres

Michelin every time. they're not the best and the most expensive for no reason. Have tried dunlop once on a bike i bought. that was ok but let you down in the mud a bit. Best way to test a trials tyre is get a small piece of glass or perspex and push it onto the tread of the tyre. most tyres knobbles close up except on the michelin and thats what you need in the mud.
  9. Thats no scorpa at all! looks like a special made out of a TY mono. with a new tank and plastics plus a 4 banger engine. still a nice looking bike.
  10. Ah yes! that horrible section at the aluminium works! i remember it well. you had to ride that big rock in between two trees like you where on a gasser. recognise the rider in the last two pics. its George Emmott on his Triumph twin. got any other pics?
  11. i think you need to ask martin mathews! he'll have all the answers.

    Don Smith

yeah! what a great man he was! i met him shortly before his death at the eborocurum 2day trial when he came up with peter gaunt to watch! my old banger brokedown on the 1st day and i got chatting to him later on. the following day my wonderful father had managed to fix the old girl and i got to ride the 2 day. Don followed me, dad and peter round some of the sections and we all had a great day. the highlight though came at the end of the trial when we where back at the car's when don popped over to say bye and just before he left he said i was a really good trials rider for a pen pusher. that comment is gonna stay with me for the rest of my life and i feel proud to have met the legend who is don smith!!
  13. hehehe! bill sure is a shrewd business man!! shhhhshh!! dont let him know!!!
  14. I would advise Michelin tyres, you cant compromise on quality. i've tried them all over the years (mich, dunlop, pirelli, irc, barum.) and the mich wins everytime. notice how many top flight riders use other makes?? not many. try your local ATS dealership. they may have in stock or be able to source out through their network tyres for you at trade prices.
  15. good question? i missed out on those and would like to see them too
  16. i was lucky with mine. the right time and place and i picked the whole bike for just over
  17. what ever happened to the dirt bike show at donnington. that was much more centrally placed in the country and there was a fair number of trials stands there too!
