  1. trail Tech does have a tech support email.
  2. I think it really only holds a bit under 2-gallons. Try this, Unhook the line coming off the lower tank fri the upper tank (by the fuel filler) Put a brake bleeder type vacuum pump on it (with appropriate reservoir) Put a slight vacuum on that line, the slowly fill the upper tank. Stop filling once fuel comes out of the lower tank breather you are connected to. NOW e lower tank is really full. Hook the line back up,and slowly full the upper tank. In real life you should not need to do they, but since you have some issues, that will alleviate not getting it full.. Where are you located? (I think your told me, but I forgot)
  3. I own an Explorer, done a shrt ride on the X-Trainer and ridden with a guy (probably similar riding skills) with a Freeride. I looked hard at the Freeride before getting my Explorer. The starter with no kicker scars me. Especially the old 2-stroke KTM style (I've had KTMs) It seemed to do pretty darn well on the tight stuff- not like the OSSA, but better than the full enduro bikes. I really liked the cross trainer. I would have kept the OSSA and used the beta for faster stuff, but still ok on the really tight stuff. Maybe lowered it a bit- I'm not short but I've gotten to like low bikes and I don't want to ride fast any more. So the extra suspension is a waste. None of those will be like the OSSA. 1. A huge weight difference. 2. Flywheel and manuverability 3. Balance and control. The OSSA excels at those. Not so hot going faster. I recently got an AJP 3.5 'Ultrapassar' (I figure that means you get passed a lot) It has aboth the same max HP as the OSSA,mount certainly not the bottom end. Handles very well, quite good suspension for what I want. Lighter than the PR4 and lower, but full sized wheels. Supurb fuel mileage (75MPG recent ride) It isn't as good as the OSSA in slow tight stuff, but probably as good as the Freeride. Weighs more than the Freeride. $$ is considerably less. My OSSA has been quite reliable- but I do all the maintenance myself and certainly understand your concerns. One reason I got the AJP was to put less hours on. The OSSA. I may have gotten the Beta, except of the cost. (Just retired so don't want to spend a lot) Also consider a Beta trials bike with ling range kit. I was told the new 4-stroke is quite light. The Montesa trials also comes with a seat (fuel?) but weighs as much as the OSSA. 4-Ride looks cool, but weights I saw approached 200lbs Not sure any of that helps.

    2012 280I Dead

You can test the injector with the software

Also make sure you don't have a bad wire to the kill button. If someone is near you that has the diagnostics cable/software you can test the spark, fuel pump etc. and look for error codes.
  6. Oh- the front pin has a zerk fitting also, so easy lube for all but the swingarm bearings.
  7. I installed my new Ti linkage today. It fit perfectly, slid right together and no issues. My only disappointment is it still uses the bushing setup rather than needle bearings. But with easy way to lube- I can just pump some fresh grease in (getting rid if the old gork) every ride. So they will probably last a very long time. AND I have a box of them. I have just bounced it in the shop, but I'm sure it will be great.
  8. The clutch is mineral oil, so I doubt it would make any difference between brands. Mine was pretty light, VERY light since I installed a Clake 2 (it has a spring assist clutch) What year Explorer? I have a 2014 and I know they did change the clutch though the years.
  9. Note that the oil inspection window is not really accurate. I believe more oil is recommended even for older models now. The clutch is mineral oil on my 2014- I would expect that one to be also. Make sure the lever has a little play before touching the piston. If too tight it can cause problems. If you want to sell the Explorer parts let me know. Mark
  10. The seller got me the missing part. It was not his fault, since it was drop-shipped. But he made darn sure I got it! I have not had time to install (working on my new AJP and a customer bike) but will report as soon as I do. It looks very good- it does have bushings rather than needle bearings- but with zerks I can just flush the old gunk out and have fresh grease in there every ride. Should work well. Plus the lifetime guarantee against breakage. Mark
  11. The 4RT is as heavy as my Explorer, without the 'long distance' comfort. I would certainly consider one though- friends that have them like them. For what I've seen, the OSSA build quality is at least as good. Really. I don't have $10k to blow at his point in time (just retired) and the OSSA is working Superbly for me. I like the response, balance etc. But if I get another trials based bike the 4RT will be high on the list for my use. (Although it would require a LOT more work to plate here- unlike the OSSA, which was easy)
  12. One thing I liked about the OSSA was the. High build quality. As good or better than any other bike I've worked on. Obviously the business is there to make money. Pretty hard to do in trials I think. But I like the Bike so much I'm sure hope someone starts building them again. It has fit my use so well- although if they made a model with just a bit more suspension travel, easily lubed/rugged linkage (like the Ti stuff I have) and maybe about 5hp more top end (assumig it could be done without loosing the bottm) then it would be a wonderful all arounder. I don't do much competition- I just like to ride.
  13. Yes, I have tried it. It does affect it. I want to my stall an O2 sensor so I can see really see what it is doing.
  14. Still trying to work out getting replacement part. The shipper needs to file claim, although I a filing ken with my credit card company also. ( they have protection against loss in shipping) The box was inside a bag, but not one of those with the really rugged plastic, but just a paper type. So once the box failed the parts could just tear a hole and fall out. I tried contacting the company through the website and never got a response.

    Tps Crossover?

Anyone know what TPS the OSSA uses? It is only sold with throttle body- might be nice to have another for spare and testing. Mark
  16. I got the new Ti linkage today. Problem- it wasn't packed very well and missing at least the main rocker! I wonder about people that just toss stuff in a bag and ship it around the world. Especially something so expensive. It was dropped shipped, so no blame to the retailer. I have sent email to find out my next step, Dang it! What I did get looks very good.

Do you need the software? PM me.

Th voltage should be .6 (with the software) at proper idle speed. THEN set the TPS to the ECU (also with software. Otherwise the ECU isn't matched properly and it won't run correctly. I found I need to reset it about very 100 hours. You may be able to get it to run better, but I don't think it will ever be right. Did you call T&T to see if they could get you the cables?
  19. My front wheel bearings seem to. Last the same as they did on my KTM- not very long. I ride I loads of mud and water. I've tried all sorts of things, repacking with waterproof grease, special bearings, best bearings I could find, cheap bearings. So far the cheap bearings last about the same and so I just figure on replacing every 40-60 hours. I buy them in the 10 pack. Free shipping for me https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0045DV0AC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I also agree with the quality, performance and rideability of the OSSA after owning 40+ bikes over the years. I also agree their marketing was poor, not enough dealers and of course some teething problems on the first couple of years (pretty common) After 2014/5 they had it down pretty darn well. Perfect? Hardly. What do I want different on my Explorer? Linkgage with proper bearings/zerks (on the way) Decent fuel cap Translucent tank (explorer) Better rear master (I don't like the phoney side mounted cap) Use the TR rear rotor, caliper and brake pedal on Explorer (mine has) Better stock chain (pretty small complaint, I just ditched it and mounted a narrow DID 'O' ring) Come with diagnostic cables (I ipunderstand why they would NOT want to do that) Better stock skid plate (frame gets chewed up- BTWICE works well) The Easy start works well, but the setup I have now is better. Something like that could certainly help with the starting issues some have had. Too bad they didn't figure all that out before selling any- it got them a very bad reputation. I certainly hope they start up again- but certainly need more cash. I stand by what I've said before, lack of sales had almost nothing to do with the bikes- but lack of avaliablilty and dealers. (Although the early issues with starting and some transmissions certainly didn't help- GasGas has had their share of trans problems in the past, but bigger and seemed to weather it) I know Adrian here in the States has said he could have sold a LOT more if he could have gotten them.
  20. Yes, the only place I've seen them is this one http://ttmoto.com.au/shop/titanium-dog-bone-link-kit/ Th are made in Europe, so probably someone else sells them also- but I couldn't find any. Since this is my primary bike, I wanted to get the setup now. Plus the exchange rate is pretty darn good to the States right now. They are on the way, probably another week before I get it. Tracking says 'inbound out of customs' so I think it is through customs going to USPS
  21. The new linkage is on they way. Probably a week or more before I get it, but I'll take pictures and report on installation etc. Mark
  22. I have a MAR that what i beleive are old Honda wheels. Let me take some pics.

You have to remove the fuel pump to replace the fuel filter anyway- but it is a bit of a pain. Same setup as KTM uses- I replaced both the pump and filter on mine, figured I'd replace the filter and maybe the pump on the old assembly. That way I'll have one all ready. Make sure the sensor in the airbox is clean and airfilter clean of course.

    Really Easy Start

I got busy and forgot. Here are a couple, I'll make up a little wiring diagram also- but very simple. I have not taken a pic of the diagnostics connector. I'm still trying to get more- I did find the pins, just not the propery connector. Momentary switch And the LiPo battery under the seat, just wrapped in some packing foam at the moment. I'll get a little fireproof pbag like suggested, but unless there is a wiring failure (certainly a possibility) it epseems unlikely any issues would happen. Please excuse the mud
  25. Yes, it is broken. Get a couple, although the replacement I got has lasted for some 200 hours. trials and Trivulations in England or Lewisport in the States have them. Not much cost
