Exhaust / cylinder joint could be a problem take it off and see if its blowing. If a scorpa is right it will rev so somthings wrong with it. To advance the timing you need to move the stator plate in the opposite direction to which the engine turns. Push the kickstart with your hand to check which way it turns. You can fully advance the timing.

What tools have you got access to ? how much two stroke do you normally mix per five litres of fuel ?

I'm beginning to question the medical profession as no two so called experts can give us the same information. We get loads of diet advice but most of it is conflicting, it seems as scientific as religion and star signs to me. eg the hair falling out business due to diet / caffiene. so lets have a test shall we....... My grandfather, bald as an egg, my dad bald as a baboons a***, me i'm a bit like an unwashed potato, some dark substances around the edges (remaining hair for me, soil for the potato). I'd call this genetic myself but i'm happy to be proved wrong. so Billy can you send me the things I should eat / drink and the things I should avoid. I'm quite happy to photograph my head every month to chart progress and post the results on TC for everyones benefit. Once my hairs grown back I will have to change my name of course cheers

Hi I had a 2006 model which revved to the moon. It was a racing version with lightened flywheel and Ign timing fully advanced mind but i would just advance the timing first. Couple of other points, dont tape up around the air intake, leave it standard in case your restricting air flow. As an experiment see how high it will rev with the mudguard off. The curious thing about my scorpa was if you tried to clean it out before entering a section it wouldnt rev out but under load it did rev, so perhaps they have some kind of rev limiter . Are you slipping the cluch heavily when the problem occurs ?

Mr Dabster what are you getting at ?, why would they have to be imports ? do you have somthing against the importer ?

stump magnet where did you get the carbon exhaust guard from ? this is my first sherco, do the std clutch covers give trouble ? only 4 weeks to ssdt !

Out of nine starts in the ssdt we have only had good weather once when my names been on the entry list. and i'm riding this year, slapshots got a one in nine chance of organising good weather based on my stats !! surely you get more than one sarnie in nine right though Gizza 5 ?

I couldnt find Bosis or Fabio Lenzi in the latest list of riders, have they dropped out or have I missed them ?

will the water pump still work ok if you skim the cover ? is there enough clearance on the kickstart shaft ? i'd buy a new one

hi Baldilocks,im not going to warden law until sunday,will be there about 11am,blue bmw tourer, gas gas 2000 250, young un will be on his suzuki lt50 quad. if your there pop over for a brew mate. get yourself to the trial anth, thats where I'll be sunday. It will be worth a look out and you'll be fine on the easy course promised the little fella i would take him on his quad, where is the trial at?

I think an ambassodor is somebody who represents somthing, in this case trials. Did Doug represent trials, did he bring it to the attention of non trials folk ? he was on You Bet a few years ago he was on They Think Its All Over he was on Top Gear a few times and when i try and explain what I do on a weekend, people have often said who's that british guy who's the best in the world ? Trials is a minority sport when compared to football for example but I think Dougie Lampkin MBE (suppose that s another example) has done an excellent job purely in terms of getting himself into areas of the media that you wouldnt expect to see him in. I dont think Dave Thorpe, 3 times world MX champ managed to get himself on the box as much.

I'm puzzled I just bought an 07 290 after riding Gas Gas for the last 8 Months. I find the Sherco clutch lighter but also sharper, its fine once you get used to it but I'm wondering why yours is heavier ? I have noticed that the adjuster screw on the lever doesnt seem to line up properly with the Master cylinder with either the AJP long lever or the apico one, perhaps I should go back to the original shorter lever ?
