  1. I'm surprised that Sandifords didnt fit new grips or did Mr Bond require a few takes
  2. I agree, years ago I believe riding in streams was banned in Germany, the French 5 day is unlikely to run again due to land access problems, we have SSI over here. If Spain cant use off road then gas gas, sherco and montesa are not going to last long ! I think our days of using the countryside may be numbered but I hope we can continue for a good while. After that we need wasteland and man made sections, giving up is not an option !
  3. Spud people have different levels of strength and also your body will adjust to a heavier clutch in time. On my previous betas the clutch hasnt been a problem but on recent try of a mates 08 Beta my arm was pumping up inside 10 mins. I dont know if this is because the Beta clutch is now heavier or because I am now used to a lighter clutch on my Sherco ?
  4. Portman I know what you mean but my bike did the SSDT with sealed bearings and it was fine. I only changed them as a precaution, my dealer told me of the carbon issue mentioned above and given 07 and 08 Shercos have given a lot less trouble I'm assuming this theory is correct.
  5. On the SYR change the damping on the shock so that it returns faster, if that doesnt work try winding up the spring a little. On the beta move the lever down the handlebar so its nearer the handlebar clamp. Also check the beta forum as Dan Williams mentioned previously removing two of the springs and filing the clutch plate tabs.
  6. My 07 Sherco came with sealed bearings I initially thought this must be an error but it wasnt. Wont fitting sealed bearings next time cure your problem ? The bearings are c4
  7. Just as an example atomant he maybe is referring to the 3 09 pros in my home centre which have all been back to the dealers as they broke the last tooth off the Dairy Lea style kickstart gear. I love the pro to ride but its not the most reliable bike. All the bikes have problems and you have to trade what you like to ride with the faults your prepared to accept before you buy. can we get back to xispa now
  8. whats the new box they refer to, exhaust perhaps ?
  9. does this mean your ditching the Mont ? Good Man !!
  10. And they are absolutely right, two stroke all the way for me ! lighter, easier to fix, cheaper to fix, cheaper to buy, quiet..... the list goes on make the two stroke more efficient in terms of emissions through fuel injection and put the four stroke back in the same bin it was first put in back in 1965 !
  11. Can I just ask... was he riding with his jacket unzipped ?? he always did back in the day and somehow never caught it on a tree either !!
  12. I find the same, when Ive cut bars down in the past I cant balance the bike as good and I find the steering a bit wierd
  13. agreed its an old piece of advice but the idea is to make the bike do the work....
  14. I think we'll have to get out on the bikes Wayne. I'll bring a video camera and film you on that 8ft splatter silky smooth.......
  15. I'm contemplating going back to Gas Gas for my next bike as I think the 09 looks really good BUT the 06 300 i had didnt come with the 2 map ignition it was supposed to have it had the Ducati system on from the 04 or 05 model. so if I order an 09 it would be nice to know what forks I would get ? the Sachs ones have problems I understand as when they bottom out they sometimes stick. Not what you want for
  16. I know what your saying but a trials bike making enough noise for somebody to think its an MX bike is not a good thing.
  17. I think it could do with a revamp but as you say Sherco are pushing the 4t
  18. I can see some logic in supplying BMW before Gas Gas as I would imagine BMW to be more financially stable and also to provide bigger orders. What I dont understand is why Marzocchi would supply Scorpa before Gas Gas unless there was a financial problem, do Scorpa shift more units than Gas Gas, I wouldnt have thought so... Still like the look of the 09 pro though
  19. I know there are not many weekends without a major event but on the weekend of the 27 July we have 1) the Reeth 3 day 2) the revamped british experts on the saturday near Carlisle 3) and the supertrial on the sunday ? presumably some of the supertrial riders are just pencilled in as they may injure themselves or their bikes on the Saturday ?
  20. John Lampkin is normally very good so I dont understand why there are parts he isnt stocking for a 2008 bike. What are you supposed to do, scrap the bike for the sake of a fork bush ? doesnt make any sense, any ideas Kinell ?
  21. now THAT would be funny !
  22. I looked at a raga at the weekend, the tubes were Marzocchi but the legs looked different ?
  23. This may be your view but dont kid yourself its factually correct, its the same cheap shot many people make. Yes the Govermant has invested many millions but it has not been spent entirely on non medical staff, or to use your word bureaucrats. What annoys non medical staff is the assumption by the masses that everyone but medical staff are non essential bureaucrats. By way of explanation just a couple of issues for you, hopefully non confrontational. Consultants, obviously a very valuable resource and very expensive to train, so how is their time best spent ? Should Consultants be ordering dressings and drugs from suppliers or operating on you and I ? A Consultants time is best spent in my view in an operating theatre operating on a patient, thats what they are trained for. Hospitals have supplies departments which employ people who get the right drugs dressings and implants to the right place at the right time 99.9% of the time. Would you classify these people as bureaucrats ? Nurses, not as expensive as consultants but essential to any care pathway pre and post op. Some of the money set aside for recruiting bureaucrats has had to be spent on improving facilities as unfortunately there were no bureaucrats left to recruit. If we are building a hospital wing which will run to
  24. Atom Ant I work for the public sector and I love your stance on this. Shell and company make billions of pounds and its my fault fuel prices are high as i dont contribute to the countrys wealth. Should you ever have the misfortune to break a leg and need hospital treatment I hope you come to the hospital I work for and we'll tell you to naff off ! Dabster is right, cutting fuel duty makes petrol cheaper but you can either reduce services or increase some other form of tax to compensate. Fuel is expensive because of the private sector profit made by Shell, BP et al not because of the public sector. Its simple supply and demand and the oil companies can demand what they like to supply us because we are totally dependent on their product. rant over.
