Its far more beneficial for amature rides (like most) that frames do not crack etc. Make my frame 2 kg heavier please! A factory rider does not have a problem when cracks occure (and they will, on all bikes, that level) but I dont think a amateur should have to worry about replacing frames. (and yes also Honda/GG/etc frames do)
  3. Wheel bearing tool would have been my answer, works on all bikes. But good that you managed to get them out
  4. Nice looking bike for the age! Did today: New oil New airfilter New front fork oil+dustseal+seal New front fork protectors and frame protector New front disk protector New steering pad New grips And some here and there maintainance.
  5. The seal and shaft wear. You can check by taking appart and look if you can feel a groove in the shaft. When it goes bad you will get milky oil, which might screw up your fibre clutch plates. Not that expansive, I replace when I do some big maintaince.
  6. Normally they put a sign on the side of the cilinders? Dont know if beta does this though. Also the frame code should help out.
  7. I use my old bits of 1:25 and 1:100 in my scooter, runs great on it and otherwise I would have to dispose it
  8. We had a guy on an old montesa cota and I think he used aspen aswel (or maybe some other premixed gasoline). Really was nasty stuff. But I can imagine a woodsman does not want to have nasty fumes around him aswell.

And I quess they have the opportunity to change a frame etc if they need to I would like to see reliability on the long run for normal users. E.g. GG frame (especiialy 2009ish) brake somethimes. Would this have been a problem for raga? Probably not. But for normal users its not that much fun.
  10. The guy riding behind does not get achey eyes?
  11. A four stroke (can) fire each rotation of the crank, but only combusts ones per two rotations. But different setups are possible. A two stroke, and so your gas gas, should fire every revolution, so every spark should be counted as a rev. Is the tachometer programmable for this? Otherwise it might be caused by radio waves and a non-resistor type spark plug? But like above mentioned I would not bother to much, just look what you like. I have it little bit higher than enough to keep it running. Makes stalling nearly impossible (especially when tired) and is easier with balancing and hopping and stuff imo.
  12. Enduro and trials bike are not included... they changed the rules because they somehow understand that it is not workable for those bikes.

''25.01 Use of titanium The use of titanium in the construction of the frame, the front forks, the handlebars, and the swinging arms, is forbidden.''
  15. We had problems with normal petrol, changed to German petrol from brand X, advised by our oil suplier, no more problems. It might be a little bit of topic, but also a bit a question on the answer of Johny boxer. Do people have (good) expierences with fuel stabelizers or cleaners, especially with the idea to put in a system for some longer time while standing still (like my road ''project'' bike)?
  16. Best thing is to go and watch, between clubs the levels can variate (at least in the netherlands). We have a slightly different class system in the Netherlands I think: For adults: A(yellow) B(red) C(blue) D(white) and the A class, and now somethimes also the C class (most often the biggest) have a Plus (+) variation. For childeren: A(championclass) B(juniors) C(aspirants) D(pupils) E(gnome's) F(open class) But I quess the idea is the same in all countries. Just go and watch, here its quite normal to walk the courses and then subscribe. If its not your intention to become champion straight away it does not matter if you try some classes. Also if conditions are difficult you can try a lower class for example in the beginning. Later you will know what class you (and he) are in and you can try to gain as much point as possible.
  17. True, but the question is also if there are real bad ones. If it has problems they most often come after a year or so, when example of good used ones show problems.
  18. No insurance, thats ''done'' by your licence. Licence basic sport motorsport (e.g. trial) is 60 euro's. This licence excludes national championship. Those are 180, 200+ and 280 or something depending on the level. All our clubs have their own land, which in some cases might be sponsored by local government. If you organise an event where riders can buy a day pass you need some extra ''insurance card'' as a club. Also you, as a club, are member of the motorsports agency (KNMV or royal dutch motorsports association). There are some small costs involved, but the members get refund on their licence if they are a member of a official club, and the boardmembers of a club get free membership, because they promote motorsports. I organise one event each year, the total cost of administration stuff is about 150 euro's in total I think. But the 5 euro I mentioned is 1 euro for the trophy and the rest is for the club to cover organisational costs. Local trials we dont have to do anything special on administration stuff, appart from counting who is winning We are lucky to have a cheap small, yet very nice location on University ground so we dont have to spend money on the site exept for maintainance. Members pay small fee a year to be member, and can ride all year arround, and compete in local events and the regional event we organise ourselfs.
  19. In the Netherlands trials are (regional) 5-7 euro (from which one euro goes towards the trophies at the end of the year) the rest goes to the organising club. Wintercup (one club organises is 4x10 euro). I think that prices are quite fair, they need to maintain the club and facilities etc.
  20. The question is if it was a marketable product in the first place than. A company should be able to stand on its own feet in some years if you ask me. Too bad but thats the way things go..
  21. Think thats a great way to train. Not cheap bikes however
  22. Must say bike looks great, really lean front end.
  23. I get the feeling this is going quite offtopic now, so shall we let this rest and talk GG aGGain? (although manufacturing is an interesting topic)
