Might be that there are 2 types of rear mudguards. Gas Gas has this, one hard one for registration plate purposes, and one soft one.

And that fits with all products which are made now (cars, dishwashers, tv's and especially phones, they are not build to last long anymore).
And for some thats not bad, e.g its much better to replace your fridge every five year or so, because they get way energy saver etc.
/too bad the prices dont adapt to that strategy

Probably different ground overthere. With sandy/mud conditions somethimes parts stick, and then release itself when riding an obstacle. Quite anoying!

How can you know if its reliable? Isnt that something we should make up in a couple of years?

Have seen/had them cracked, not broken.
Make sure to put back the kickstart mechanism like it supposed to. Maybe replace the springs (the big one and the one sticking out of the case in your picture. I had some problems once, replacing that last mentioned clip solved it.
Also check the kick gears for damage.

I think you need to look at what kind of bike YOU want (how many cc's etc), and research the different bikes with prons and cos (you can find them on the forums) and make your descision. And try to test ride in order to check what you want and how the bikes feel. (and buy a GG!)

If its from after 96 it should not be a real problem I think.

Havent tried, because I think its a fix for a problem that does not exist. As long as you keep the trottle clean and tidy there is no problem.

Just devide 12 by 0.2 and the answer is 60. So its 1 liter of oil on 60 liters of gas.
So the amount of gas, devide by the amount of oil (both in liters or mm or whatever).

Had my first competition with the bike again and it all runs smooothly. Still some things on the list to do's though. (something with time and lack of it)
Also yesterday added new sprockets chain and wheel bearings.
Still to do:
Weld and paint frame (and add guards)
Put on new tanksticker and airbox side stickers
Rehaul front suspension

Just take on of the hoses of (when cold) and let it drip. Put it back on and fill with coolant. Dont mess with the torx gold colloured thing in the pump.
The pumps do go bad, but they will leak internally, so your oil will come out milkey (if you have a side glass you can spot it).

Unfortunatly there seem to have been a fire at the s3 workplace.
Hope no one got hurt and not to much damage is done but it seems pretty destructive.

Its funny that a lot of the high riders are ''now'' riders.
Offcoarse its more easy to participate events because of money etc than it used to be in the 80ies etc probably. But riders ending their cariers should (and are) on there highest of scores, and a lot of the top riders in that list still arent.

GG in basics even is 2002. But (in my openion) a great bike (when you know its flaws). New frame made it even better.
