  1. Holding the levers also stops pulling them in too hard in a reaction. If you need to grap them you are probably pulling the brake too hard, instead of nice and dosed.
  2. Also the crank gear! (but I think its a set nowadays)
  3. Quality is subjective, its a range between reliability and price. (and gg is spanish(just like montesa))
  4. I once had that when on of the fingers of the clutch was not correctly in. Luckaly did notice it straight away and solved it. The bike does seem pretty used!
  5. Yeah, small bits off can cause lots of noise!
  6. Eventually.... But I really think the older bikes are partly killing the sales of new ones. Just because that bikes where too good. (gg editions e.g. super reliable and rideable for the beginner and advanced)
  7. Im with lineaway! I did have the big bearing behind the clutch worn on a ''project'' bike i bought. But it could move up and down. I did replace the bearing and some spacers etc and it was problem free.
  8. Maybe this also has to do with the financial situations, and I think the market is also ''troubled'' by good second hand bikes available. Why buy a new bike if an trials bike from around year 2000 can work brilliant aswel? If globaly not more people start riding, then there is no need for more bikes. (ok some people buy a new one each year, and some die)
  9. I have replaced a damaged kickstarter cover last friday, and too badly also saturerday whole they. Took a s3 one and mounted without problems, bled the system, nor worries. Untill tried to start it the kickstarter did not went smooth enough (did start and worked fine for the rest) Spend hours dismounting and mounting parts to figure out where the problem was. Without the clutch no problem, with it it was too thight. Without the crankwheel no problem, with it it was again too thight. Searching searching etc. Finally sunday morning, replaced the kickstarter spring, the cup where the spring is in. Not stuck anymore, but now the kickstarter would not grap (the 1/4 wheel stayed behind the idle gear). Also replaced the other ''spring'' on the 1/4 wheel, and problem solved. So if you have a problem with this sometime, its worth trying out a new spring and ''spring''! Strange thing was that I took the old cover off, and did not though the kickstarter system, and put new cover on, and the problems started. Put probably the kickstarter was on the edge of having problems for a while and now it reveiled itself, lol. For the rest spend the whole day riding yesterday!
  10. Where is it at? My gg (2008) has it in the radiator, older ones did have it in the tube. In the radiator its hold in with a big circlip.
  11. Yeah its possible. Have had it some times with editions, only with starting though. Friend of mine used to have a cz two stroke bike, it reversed at stationary at the traffic lights! Gives funny situations! lol. Adjusting the ignition solved that problem. (its cant be good for the engine)
  12. Did not read this whole thread (dont blame me), but i have a question. Are there any rules or regulations about bikes, need for homologation etc? Like with some classes in superbikes that the model needs to be produced for customers etc. Or can someone develop a one of prototype and participate in the world championship (pure hypotetically offcoarse).
  13. It has thread on the outside, so that will be difficult. If its not to bad you can try to seal it with something that can take gasoline. There is this tape for air and water hoses etc. maybe something like that? Something like rescue tape? Otherwise take it to a machine shop for a fix.
  14. You cannot set the preload, only by putting shims/spacers on top of the springs.
  15. Mine had it too. Also the primary gear (right one of the clutch). Than it probably needs new clutch basket and primary gear. But try too isolite the problem first.
  16. But, if a group of lets say 20 random people of arround 18-25, sporty, would get trial motorcycles and train with eachother everyday for a couple of hours, with a good trainer, there will be some that can become quite good. Offcoarse you need tallent to be that good, but you can get to a certain high level with training. Also the ones that might have the tallent might not even be motorcyclists... I still always think I have an incredible tallent for curling, but I have not done it (yet). lol.
  17. In the end its a combination of factors offcoarse. Quality mechanics, great atlethes, superb techniques and practise. i do know a lot can be done with suspension, and there are a lot of techniques that make ''smart'' suspension without electronics. (look at for e.g. dakar material)
  18. So difficult to say via the web. Can be something easy as a little air leak, wrong mixture, or worse.
  19. Mine died today, unfortunatly couldnt get the blades of without damaging. Friend of mine probably has some old ones left so will try again. After destroying it, it did all fit, so t should be possible Also had some fun with the radiator mounting bolds Will need to weld the bar between those mounting points so bit more work to do!
  20. Ussualy it says on the top on the master cylinder, but maybe yours have those ''fancy'' ones. With the older type the green ones where mineral, the rest dot 4.
