  1. Possibly from a Chinese clone called a Flywing MX150 from 2004
  2. A decent chain through the frame not the wheels (you can get a security chain through the frame just behind the front sprocket and above the chain on a 4rt) and a ground anchor bolted to the garage floor would be a good investment.
  3. After doing a bit of research - apparently if the last time the vehicle was taxed was prior to 1998 and has not been taxed since - then no SORN is required. However I'm not sure if this rule only applies until there is a change of owner I would have thought, that as I became the new owner in 2013, the DVLA would have chased me for not SORNing it by now, but then this is the DVLA we're talking about
  4. Have just checked online about my old TY175, it says tax due 1st Sept 1987 It's been registered to me for 3.5 years and I can't remember nor have I any proof that I declared a SORN So the dilemma is do I declare it SORN now before I get a letter or wait for the letter?
  5. There's one way I found that improved my balance quite i bit, you don't need a bike and you can practice anywhere, although some folk might think you are a bit weird and that is to stand on one leg, when that leg has had enough stand on the other one.
  6. I'm assuming both bikes have the same type of engine Is it A or B ?
  7. I think it is a 200 made in May 2002 number 201 16 02 05 02 0201 16 = 200 (175cc) 02 = Model year 05 = Month manufactured 02 = Year of manufacture 0201 = sequential production number
  8. Sorry not next weekend there's a trial at Loughborough, If you've got your ACU licence why not have a go, they do a beginners route and you have to start somewhere
  9. You'll usually find someone at Earl Shilton most Saturday's and Sunday's There's a few of us going up there this Sunday, we get there around 10am and leave around 3pm I should imagine there will quite a few there as there's no local trials on this weekend Pop along if you can, look for a white Peugeot Partner last three letters of reg no DOS and just say Hi
  10. Totally totally baffling New capacitor fitted - starts ok - switch off - starts ok again - refit air box - won't start Disconnect pump from loom - supply 12v to fuel pump - starts ok Remove 12v supply from pump and reconnect to loom - will start but its a struggle and runs rough/rich ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- According to wiring diagram The pump is running constantly and is not switched via ECU Red wire to injector is constantly fed with +12v Pink wire from injector is switched to earth via ECU, the longer this wire is switched to earth the more fuel is delivered via injector. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If temperature sensor is at fault, why would supplying the pump with 12v make the ECU think differently?
  11. Just used a comparison website (the one with the annoying opera singer) the 2014 onwards 259cc is listed under Honda Montesa
  12. I've had mine for just over a year now, it's never been one to start first kick, but then sometimes it surprises me and does. I've always suspected the capacitor as they do loose efficiency. However recently it became worse at starting, so did some investigation as to what this may be and found:- The throttle body was filthy with soot both sides of the throttle valve, how does this happen? - anyway the throttle body got a good clean. I checked resistance and voltages of various components, everything checked out ok to the manual specifications, but one thing I noticed was that when kicking it over, the voltage coming from the rectifier was the same as you are getting, various voltages between 9v and 12v Voltage from each of the three yellow alternator wires was 4.5v AC One of the checks recommended somewhere on the internet was to check for continuity between the yellow alternator wires and earth (with them disconnected from the loom) and that there should be none, it should be open circuit, I can't remember exactly what I found here but I have a feeling I did get some sort of reading. My conclusion was that the alternator on kicking wasn't producing enough voltage for the bike to start first time, though I could be wrong of course.

    Patch

Check all earths coming from the ecu, there are three of them, all green wires. A kinder way to stop the engine until you find the fault, is to pull the red low tension wire off the coil.
  14. Is it possible that the injector is picking up a signal from a different source i.e. is there a short in the wiring loom?
  15. First try winding it in or out half a turn from it's current position, if still no go then, try winding the screw right out until it runs out of threads, then wind it back in 10 turns and experiment from this position.
  16. It is indeed an air screw, turn anticlockwise to increase revs, clockwise to decrease http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=19584
  17. Try Kestrel Honda Coventry ask for Scott on the parts desk, give him the part number 31700 NN4 003 That's unless you brought the one sold on ebay today
  18. Not sure about a 315 but the 4rt the wires are green + black and white, if you start the bike and short the b/w to the green the engine should stop

    4rt water pump case

Try Kestrel Honda Coventry speak with Scott on parts desk, quote the part numbers - cover part number is 19221 NN4 000, gasket part number 19229 NN4 000 he won't have the parts in stock but should be able to get it within a couple of days, they do mail order too.
  20. That's definitely the end of Banger racing then
  21. ECU gets timing signal from crankshaft sensor and also gets a signal from throttle position sensor plus a few others. Is the throttle returning to it's stop on the throttle body, check throttle cable is seated correctly and not popped out at either end. Try winding air screw in or out to see if it makes a difference - only by half a turn either way though. Have you tried disconnecting injector with pump connected then trying to start, then pull plug to see if it's wet. See attached PDF of system it's for a 260rt PGM Montesa.pdf
  22. The straight one is 122.4mm
  23. There's a slight amount of parallax on the photo but this one measures 62.55mm
  24. We all do this, make simple mistakes and take the wrong route. Quite often instead of riding the easy route which I should be doing, I'll find myself riding the expert route, usually ending up in a tree, hedge or on my ass. My remedy for this age related misdirection is simple - laughter I'm there to enjoy the day and if I'm laughing I'm happy The only moment of happiness a points chaser gets at a trial is when the results are out and they are at the top Next time you're at a trial, take a moment to look around at some of the serious miserable faces - they're the points chasers who have just took a dab. Then look at the smiling faces - they're the ones who are there to enjoy the day, they'll either be the ones pulling themselves out of a hedge or his mates taking the mick (after the obligatory of asking if he's alright that is) My advice is keep practising, keep going to trials, keep making those simple mistakes but above all keep laughing and as time goes by you'll slowly make your way up the score board because they'll be other newbies coming along behind you worrying about making the same mistakes as you are now.
  25. According to their website it's at Saintbury Quarry http://www.freewebs.com/eveshammcc/culbeventsresults.htm They usually have a C route for beginners
