Anyone know why sherco have gone for the fuel, tank back in the conventional place on the new models? Just curious why they have fine away from the tank at the back opposite exhaust
I cleaned airbox out split it re sealed and re assembled. snipped a bit off of the drain fitting. spent a hour cleaning the carb and the jets. put it all back together and its now starting perect and sounds to be running better.
have got a splash guard on the way to stop the water getting in over the engine
only thing now is it seems to hesitate at full throttle doesnt bog down initially but once your halfway through the revs it does. have ordered a new plug to see if it helps any other ideas?
I cleaned the valve out last time. But this time when it started bogging down a little I pulled the whole valve out and loads of water came out. As if the weight of the water isn't enough to open it. I left it out for the rest if the day
Have answered my own question here, I have the Forma boulders and my mate has wulf boots. Just done our first trial (badly) and mine are great but his have worn a hole on the inside LH boot about where your heal is FIRST RIDE!!!!!!
Seems to be a pattern occurring with my mates txt..... problematic
Firstly will only start on the choke....... any ideas?
secondly any wet action and it gets in the airbox and doesn't drain out of the little reed valve.... some tape over airbox cover should sort this
Lastly and most worrying engine is starting to sound a bit rattly... top end .... bottom end have no idea to be honest
Ok have watched the video so jut gong to re assemble as shown and try again. Hope no damage to engine as it must have been running dangerously low on oil
My mates TXT 250 has a problem
This started when i noticed just above the kickstart spindle its punched a hole in the clutch casing (pic below) as a temporary fix i used some liquid metal stuff to plug the hole and set about trying to figure out why the friction spring has done this.
I took everything apart and seemed to have got it back together how it should be, filled it with oil and went to kick it over it kicked once and then when it recoiled it jammed completely.
Anyone know whats up with it?

Stripped it all today, drained the carb and a mixture of water and fuel came out and the airbox was also half full of water, the little drain reed at the bottom was full of mud trapping the water in.
Im hoping this was the problem rather than the float, i had the carb out and it seems to be sealed. how do you get to or adjust the float?
