Average marks lost was 3.2 for the first 10 riders over 18 sections. Was chatting with another rider on the way back from the last group and it was a shame on the severity just like the first round. Hopefully the next 2 rounds will make up for the loss we have just had. Two years ago Bootle was won on around 23 and it was still a good day out for all. Also what about the quantity of all the coloured markers ?

Yep - sounds like the exact same thing we had. The oil seals sorted our bikes out and the problem went away. At the time though no-one had actually seen this problem either as most answers came back that the engine oil was over filled - trouble was we had changed the oil a couple of trials before the oil in the air box appeared.
-
Yeah, had that situation on my previous '05 and my friends '06. The problem was the oil seal between the gearbox/clutch and the engine. Change the seals and you will have it sorted. ps if you run all the std breather hoses you will more than likely find a residue of oil in the air box ?

Please note guys - if you do go for this mod make sure you buy the couplings with EPDM seals as the Viton seals do not like brake fluid and will eventually leak !! Generally Stuabli colour co-ordinate with EPDM couplings anodised red and viton yellow.

Yes it is a Staubli quick release coupling which is exactly the same as we use on the WRC cars on the clutches. More than likely HRC are pre-bleeding a spare master cylinder to aid the speed of replacement if he brakes the cylinder when competing. Therefore I would expect spare units would be available pre-bled ready just to swap over. The Staubli's are zero fluid loss therefore no bleeding required !!

Original fitment sparkplugs made by HRC/NGK. 2 grades available depending apon your setup. CR6EH-9 is standard, CR5EH-9 is 'hotter'.

Tried the hotter plug option this weekend and the problems seem to have gone away. Checked the plug after the event and it runs much cleaner now. One bike has the std throttle body on it with big bore exhaust,Jitsie filter and the flame guard fitted. Other bike had big bore exhaust,Jitsie filter (no flame guard fitted)and Power map on PTB. So from this it's suggesting the plug is looking like the culprit !! Regards Std parts or not - can only suggest what we have found out, but all the above was used on the '05 bike apart from the PTB and never had a starting issue. Oh and one last thing - there was plenty of mud and deep water around !!!! All in all for what it cost's for the plug - give it a go as it seems to work ok on our '07 Repsol's ps has anyone tried an Ohlins on their bike ????

Good point and thought about this as well - but if that was the case would it not be low on compresssion ??

Flame guard or not - Just want the bike to start Last years bike was purfect all year - this year 3 trials old and it won't start very easily which is a p-ss-r !! Any body had any coil problems or bad earthing with the electrics ??

Hi, regards the air filter I've already got the Jitsie fitted to mine as I run one on last years bike - seems to let them rev more ??!! Run the flame guard though as I know of another guy who caught the air filter on fire on a sherco when he removed the flame guard !!!! Sounds like the tools will be with me at the next trial - not really sure this is the true problem though ?? Any Ideas ??
-
Believe it or not I've tried this as well !! Have even tried reducing 5% fuel for starting at below 1800rpm for starting purposes only. Has anyone tried using the 5 grade plugs which run hotter from what I'm told ??

Just reading through the above and myself and a friend have a similar problem with Repsol 07 models. The starting of the two bikes are a big problem after 1 1/2 laps of a normal trial - big problem to start. The strange thing is we have tried both std and ptb bodies with no change in the result ! We have also tried the idle sitution as well - no better. I have run my bike for 45 mins on idle stopped it and re-started it at home no problem. Have also run it completely out of fuel at home and re-started it no problem !! The problem arises only after some competition use. We have also tried the diagnostics test which has no faults along with new spark plugs !! Anyone got any ideas ??

Where are the bikes for
