  1. perhaps it's a balls rest ...you'd have to have big balls to ride that!
  2. Remember professionals get paid to do wear things and say things
  3. What are they? a splint/brace?, electric shock aversion therapy?
  4. I thought perhaps it best if I write 100 lines " It's always the crappy lightswitch or kill button";.... after spending 3 hours delving into wiring loom to try to get lights to work on a six month old Evo it came back to the switch. Being a grumpy old man I am naturally suspicious of a policy of planned obsolecence with modern trials bikes but surely Beta can do better than that nicely styled /positioned light & kill switch..it's a piece of *hit.

    Engine Mounts

Am I missing something ? are we talking about a Bantum a wheelbarrow ???????????????
  6. Was that dry powder coating? ..like Perce's humour

    Xispa Rebranded?

Even if it was/is some of the same people from Xispa the pics clearly show its an all new bike with some excellent ideas; what is the problem with letting them compete in an open market?
  8. cant offer any practical help but felt like a rant (sorry) It just occurs to me how ludicrous it is to keep 16/17 year olds on 125 cc motors when it is safe to say that most riders can't use the power they have (specially me) another head up a** ruling based on bull*hit. I suppose I will be corrected but fortunatly we are still entitled to have opinions. Billco's idea may be way foreward (no substitute for CC) if there's enough meat in the barrel and you can find a piston.
  9. good fun thanks again for posting for us that couldn't get there
  10. IS this sort of converstion the reason why it is so dificult to get observers?
  11. well done big Mart these sections look like real sections
  12. maybe the slave cylinder had a bubble in it?

    Montesa 311

Had one new "back in the day" recollections were of weakness at headstock and forks raked out too far and getting carb off as difficult, all a bit vague I know but every little helps.

    Suspension

Ouch , don't know about how to get meltrd pants of but the skin being organic will harmlessly rot away in time.
  15. Isn't there some rule (not saying I agree with it) restricting youths (under 18?) to 125 cc?
  16. I suppose we are talking all tubeless IRC are what I use ( locally we have mostly roots and muddy banks) edge lasts longer sidewalls softer etc however they are prone to the bead getting knocked off if you riding rocks or if you get a puncture the bead will almost certainly pop off the rim in a very short time.. Dunlops I understand are the tyre of choice for staying on the rim and are e.g the tyre of choice for e.g the scottish, Michelin are a good compromise of the other two. I also wonder how the price of IRC 's doubled...(It is a rheotorical wondering though).
  17. don't know what I'm supposed to be using but I always buy cheapest ( I assume thats unleaded) afor my 200 and it runs fine.
  18. As a temporary fix why not drill (and tap if you have the kit) a (say) 5mm hole/thread and put a bolt in it ?
  19. everybody must have gone football crazy you would usually have been welcomed by now with half adozen different answers... guesse you're talking a bout 2 stroke premix... you should be safewith any synthetic (or semi) at 75cc to 5 litres..Putoline are generous sponsors to major events in our sport why not try it..it has a blue dye in it so you can tell difference twixt 2 or 4 stroke (did I mix it up last weel??? doubts etc are dispelled with this method ).... Gearbox oil probably 5/30 synthetic or automatic transmission fluid in later betas works fine. Have you a local bike shop (trials) ..why not call in or on phone and see what they have)
  20. Not the response you looking for but there was a post on here tother day ( have you had a look through the bike specific forums?) regarding misfires/kickbacks etc. all down to bad earth.. so are your misfire and slow fan related to bad earth or even an earth missing. Electrical stuff always a mystery to me wish I could be more helpfull.
  21. I had that problem and response (regulator) didn't get sorted untill I put new Thermostat swith in. I even checked old one in the saucpan and it switched fine. Bloody electrics!!! this is only meant as anecdote and not guaranteed fix. hope it helps.
  22. Pity it ever got as far as it did/has. As we don't have full details of what happened it's not fair to comment exept to say that it sounds like a lack of communication twixt organisers and forestry official.... it must of been fully explained at the time and it does seem to be a vindictive waste of public money, but then give somebody (usually a nobody) a uniform /clipbard and it's a part of UK life unfortunately.
  23. the more I look at the vid the more I'm convinced you giving it too much gas too late (it may be a sound synchronisation thing). It's a common/normal thing for trials riders to give it a bit more speed in an attempt to get over an obstacle but from many many years of bitter experience it just makes you crash faster. To jump the gap you appear to be wasting drive space because you're arriving at top of first rocks in a bit of a "mess" you need legs/ gas (to make the rear suspension work for you) at this point. The "mess" of it is that you are simply following the bike at this point instead of giving it further "instruction" .Why not try it; slow it down....smaller throttle adjustments....just try to arrive in control it doesn't matter if you fail the section here or 5 foot further on in a heap it's still a fail, for practicing you have nothing to prove to anybody just experiment with techniques.
  24. There arn't too many of us to give sound advice but just to show a bit of interest (more then bound to follow); firstly after just 3 months I would say you're doing fantasticly well. second wish I had somewhere like that to practice. Best thing is to watch and importantly listen to good riders doing these things. It seems to me (belive me I aint qualified to advise!) that you're making a meal of getting into the section.... to much gas, legs a bit rigid and then you're fighting it for the next part of the section. Looking further ahead may also help with thr veering off bit. Why not break the section into bits and see how you can get onto/over the first bit by different combinations of throttle/legs/suspension "preload" . You need to get lined up for second bit (jump) with you and the bike in a neutral state ready and looking ahead. rather be there playing than sitting here.
