  1. I think that is an option for the explorer? I will look into that as it would be helpful. Glad to see I am not the only one who does not like to run out of fuel. This model specifically... Bike felt soooooooo much better with them. http://roxspeedfx.com/product/black-2in-rise-handlebar-dual-sport-pivoting.htm
  2. Great day today took delivery of my OSSA 2013 factory Bike has the latest capacitor easy start system installed and fired up on the 3rd kick out of the shipping crate. I got to spend about 2 1/2 hours on the bike today and so far I am liking it lots. First impression is that it is very different power and overall tighter feel than I am used to with my 2004 Sherco 2.9. It's power is very crisp and snappy yet rock steady and solid way down low. I find it much easier to control lofting the front end around and it's easier to hop over logs or anything else than with the Sherco due to the near instant throttle response. Like the no fuel petcock, no choke just fire it up and ride off very cool. One thing I noticed is this bike does not smoke... not at all, kinda cool but creepy in a way after being so used to the smokers in my past. Clutch has a much nicer feeling IMO it's easier to feather and less off/on than my Sherco. Brakes feel much better overall on the OSSA big difference in front brake power. I had new pads on the Sherco but was still difficult to do stoppies with one finger, no issue at all on the OSSA. In figure eights turning radius seems a little tighter than my Sherco but not by much. The build quality and fit and finish appear to be excellent, she sure is a sexy bike. I love the way it sounds with the carbon exhaust, until the fan turns on and she sounds like a 7k vacuum cleaner lol Its a very loud fan. I did put 2" risers on the bars, it feels much better with them than without, no issues with the cables. So so far so good, the bike runs like a top, no starting issues things are looking good. Hope to get a few more hours on it before taking it to a 2 day trials meet this weekend. Oh one minor gripe.. you can't seem to tell how much fuel is in the tank so no idea if you are about to run out or not. a sight window might have been a nice touch.
  3. Those ladies sure can ride. Nice slow motion on that video for sure.
  4. My 2013 factory 300 is coming in on Wednesday the manual is with it. I'd like to have the fuel ready to go when I get the bike. Is there a specific oil that Ossa recommends, or can I use the same Maxima K2 that I use in my Sherco? What ratios are you guys running? Tnx.
  5. Yeah that is what people who are not 6'4" say. It's all relative short folks bend their knees also, I'm still taller when I bend mine. It was like night and day with my risers on my Sherco. I think it's important to feel comfortable on your bike.
  6. Yeah at Lewis Motorsports I swear Mandy was calling it an Ahser lol must be a language thing. Got it now.. Ossa ohssah
  7. I keep hearing it spoken both ways, what one is correct?
  8. Yeah I have a pair of those on my Sherco, was wanting to avoid having to put risers on the bike. Maybe I will not have a choice.
  9. Sherco is off injured reserve list for now. Fan is running fine it was low on fluid and seems OK for now. If it is / has been leaking I can't see where from. I just got a killer deal on an enclosed trailer so I will bring both bikes to the meet just in case something happens, ya never know. Excited for Wednesday to come so I can give the new bike a go.
  10. Ill let ya know Zippy looks like I won't have the bike until Wednesday I was hoping to have more time on it before the meet. My Sherco is overheating all the sudden also, so I may not have a choice but to ride the Ossa. Ankle is actually feeling pretty good, so far it's looking like a go.
  11. I saw your bike in another thread MC very nice! This will be my bike for some time going forward. I really felt drawn to it from the first time I saw it. I hope I like it as much as I think I am going to. I am going to keep the Sherco also as a spare / let friends ride bike....like they say you never forget your first. I need someone to ride with out here... I'll hook someone eventually, working on my younger brother right now.
  12. Fox DirtPaws work fine for me.
  13. Mine were very close as well, I have wide feet so had to get a size 12 where I would normally use an 11. Had 11's sent then back, too tight. Very comfy boots though best I have had.
  14. That sucks mags, I am very lucky to have plenty of land to ride on as I please.
  15. I've been using 4" bar risers with my sherco and I like them a lot. I'm 6'4" tall and they really make the bike fit me better. I don't really want a clunky pair of risers on my sexy new Ossa. Does anyone make a handlebar with that much rise over standard? I've done some snooping but have come up short, anyone have a recommendation?
  16. You ever get this fixed Tom?
  17. LOL don't wait by the phone The VA will be doing the surgery so odds are it will be well into winter before they can get to me. (hoping) Planning to ride it next meet, will see how I feel on the bike and how the ankle holds up. I am interested to see how the bike feels compared to my Sherco, looking forward to spending some 'bonding' time with the bike.
  18. Thanks Zippy! Yeah I don't know what is wrong with it yet but the chunk of bone on the side is not supposed to be there. Whatever it's pushing on feels less than good. I will probably try and ride the next meet on it unless they tell me I can't. I'll bring my industrial strength scorecard clip this time
  19. My first trials was like that I was dragging ass very tired. The second one I felt like a new man. What made the difference? About 20 hours of practicing very slow figure eights (on a hillside too), stopping and balancing as long as possible over and over, and riding as slowly as possible in lots of different terrain and grades. My second trials I was not winded whatsoever, unfortunately I lost my scorecard and got a DNF but lesson learned all the same. Bottom line is when you can not stop to assess the situation or search for a marker WO dabbing, trials is a LOT more tiring and physically demanding, not to mention stressful. If you can stop for extended periods of time and don't have to keep moving then this would not apply to you. Just trying to share my own experience Just My Opinion.
  20. Thanks Canada280i I actually bought it from LewisSportsUSA nice people over there. I had them re-spring it for my fat ass as well. What REALLY sucks is that I have been having some nasty ankle problems (old motocross injuries) and hurt it at a trials meet last week. Now it looks like I have to have surgery on it so I may have the bike and not be able to ride it for some time.. torture.....
  21. Disclaimer; As a newer novice rider I am painfully aware that this bike is way, way more bike than I need or can make proper use of. To be honest, I just don't care, the more I learned about it the more I felt like I had to have one. I will keep riding and I will keep getting better. I am a huge technology junkie and I really appreciate the engineering I see on this bike. You folks here seem to like them plenty, I have a few questions. This bike is supposedly a limited edition as well, does that mean anything at all or are all 'factory' models limited editions? What upgrades does the factory version have that the regular bike does not, is it lighter, how much? 300cc Lighter Triple clamps Carbon Fiber Exhaust Trick Footpegs Dual Mapping FIM covered rear sprocket what else? This bike has the latest capacitor easy start system so I guess I am good there. I have been riding a 2004 Sherco 2.9 and it is a fine enough bike but it's purpose was pretty much just to let me try trials and see if it was something I would stick with for the long haul. The bike is still on it's way to me, I am very excited to spend some time on it and get acquainted with it.
  22. Good to know! My dad has a tractor mounted sawmill (PTO) that I could use also I am sure. Will have to make sure there is no steel in them, thank's Biff. Thought about pinning them too, not a bad option. I cut a lot of chain for my business have a hydraulic cutter that is actually made for rebar, will have to weigh that option.
