  1. What, as the top hit Beta UK not what you wanted or that you can't get some new beta plastics from them???
  2. Have now done over a dozen trials and I can say that mine starts better than my previous 2T. There's definatly a knack to it, no throttle and a gentle 'push right through' rather than a harsh jabbing - starts like a sewing machine first time most time. Never have to use the hot start button and on even on the odd occasion its been upside down or on its side when I know its likely to be flooded and difficult (like a 2T would be as well!) I just open the throttle full and kick it through and it barks into life.
  3. try putting lampkin and beta into google. You will be amazed at what it produces.
  4. Despite insuring me for my 08 REV3, ebike declined to insure my Evo 300 4T as it wasn't listed on their site (no surprise as it is a new model) and having referred it to their underwriters to check it, they wrote back to say they won't insure it as it isn't 'road legal' (that was despite my supplying full spec and linking to the manufacturers website)
  5. New to van ownership and using 2008 Peugeot expert SWB 2.0 120BHP. Its only used to transport one or two bikes twice a week and the rest of the time general use unladen. The only tyre pressures given are for semi laden (48/53PSI) and fully laden (N/A) The above pressure seems to give a harsh ride when unladen and its more 'comfortable' using around 42/44. Any of you guys in a similar position - what pressures are you using.
  6. Yep - what he said. I use Silkolene 15-50 synthetic (see the evo 250/300 4T thread) This is a good place for oil - good discounts and service....... http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-773-motorcycle-oils.aspx
  7. Hiflo appear to be standard issue - as supplied by Lampkins when I ordered a couple recently for my EVO 300.
  8. J.Lampkin 7th Ben Hemingway was 10th Appear to be the best 4T entries - both on the Evo 4T if I'm not mistaken. Nothing on the Beta UK website or other publicity that i have seen. Be nice to hear how they went.

    Ossa Mar

Lots of OSSA resources in the states. Have a look at this link...... http://www.ossaworld.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=cLinks.view They are all very helpful, I have personally had parts from Ron 'ossaman' Bors who was brilliant.
  10. Always difficult this googling thing
  11. Just go direct to Lampkins. Excellent service and fast delivery.
  12. .He's a country mile ahead of anyone else in his class. He has to be one of our hot new prospects!
  13. full results can be found on www.mansfieldmauntrials.com

  15. Wind yer neck in drama queen! One post saying "can't open the file" is hardly a bunch of bst*ds 'on his back' - IS IT?
  16. No, they were absolutely bang on - no adjustment needed.
  17. Safari at the moment - usually Firefox. Don't think that would make any difference though - its just the downloaded file format that won't open. Its trying to open it with Microsoft Entourage but thats all corrupted. Why can't the results be in an excel database PDF same as everyone else??
  18. Can't open that file - what is it?
  19. Closer view of the valve check (don't make the mistake of trying to insert the feeler gauge on top of the rocker - which is above the blade in the picture)
  20. Just checked the valves. Spoke to an owner at the weekend who managed it without disturbing the engine - but I can't imagine how on earth he did it? I rocked the engine forward in the frame (see picture) exposing valve covers and did the business with the clearances. A bit fiddly and I would recommend getting individual feeler gauges (mine are by WURTH) which you have to modify by bending the ends slightly (again see picture) Clearances from Lampkins are INLET 0.10 and EXHAUST 0.15 metric. Anyone not familiar with the procedure can view a tutorial on adv rider website - http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=55445
  21. Lampkins - if you really need to know. It looks like a factory job, but its easy enough to do - just a matter of refastening the mount to a bolt hole at a higher point.
  22. Come on fella, it can't be hard - for a starter, ring the Beta importer (John Lampkin Imports) and ask him.
