  1. Why do you want to convert it?
  2. I rode a more or less brand new Vertigo last weekend and was surprised how weak the brakes were... I'm sure they just weren't bedded in yet, so yes, I'd say they can feel 'that bad'. You can wait it out or heat cycle them as suggested.
  3. Dan, don't know if you rode the Vertigo too, but my impression of both was that the gearbox's felt really tight and positive. Compared to the tranny on all the other bikes I've ridden (especially this GG, which is really, ummm, vague I guess is the best way to put it... if I ignore the whole 4th -> 5th weirdness anyway) they were spectacular.
  4. I went by today. Although I spent most of my time playing on my GG, I did a quick spin on the Vertigo and the TRS. Basically what Dan said... I found the Vertigo intimidating. The clutch is light but very abrupt, and between that and the fact that the bike is loud as $#@$, I was very cautious. The TRS was more like getting on XYZ bike that I'm used to, very progressive clutch (but too heavy for me to run all day). I'd like some more time on one when the 250/280 show up.
  5. Yeah, I know, I live in crazytown for actually using the oil spec'd by the manufacturer. It's a lonely world...
  6. From the info you've provided, I'd say Beta EVO 200 2t or a Beta EVO 250 4t.
  7. Ill take your word for it. My clutch feels pretty good to me though.
  8. I'm talking about the user manual by the way, from the manufacturer.
  9. I know Jim is well respected and whatnot, but I'd still never put ATF in a gearbox, especially one that also lubricates the bottom end. But what do I know...
  10. I'm still confused as to why people with modern GG's use ATF? The manual pretty clearly says 75W gear oil...
  11. So my last ride I noticed the bike (2014 250) was pushing a bit of coolant out the pressure bleed valve. The fan runs normally, and the outside temps were below normal for my riding season (50F or so). The bike didn't seem hot, so it's possible the level was just a bit high. Can anyone confirm for the recent bikes where the fill level is? Mine is basically just over the rad fins. Also, as far as a coolant change... are these stupid clips holding the lower coolant hoses on re-usable, or should I plan to destroy them in the removal process and replace with a normal threaded hose clamp?
  12. I switched to Alpinestars from Gaerne's (oiled). They are, I concede, completely different, mainly in the sole. But the problem I had with the Gaerne's was that the sole was just way too flexy. It was killing my arches. With the Alpinestars you're way more up on the pegs because the soles basically don't flex at all. It took some getting used to but I'm glad I converted.
  13. Or... you could ride where it's legal: http://www.riderplanet-usa.com/atv/trails/new_hampshire_list.htm And/Or... you could join NETA: http://newenglandtrials.com/
  14. Benvenuti. Sarò paziente con il tuo inglese se sarà paziente con il mio italiano
  15. I think raga must be pretty p****d off. It's usually bou and himself in another league, so to not be able to win with bou at less than 100 percent is tough. On the other hand cabestany must feel great. He beat raga straight up and got the win.
  16. Anyone know how many turns out the factory setting is on the keihin?
  17. Wow. Bou second with that injury... Here comes another title. Especially if raga doesn't capitalize.
  18. All I know is that every time I come across a thread that mentions Canadian trials organizations, I want to stop reading. And it makes me less interested in anything going on in Canada than I already was. Which being half American admittedly wasn't very.
  19. Race season prep! New S3 bar ends and number plate...
  20. Anyone know what the factory settings are for the clickers on the Marzocchi?
  21. I'd seen the other one, but not this one... he's pretty ridiculous.
