  4. Hi Guys Deano here, Main jet = 120 Pilot jet = 35 Just moved the needle up onto its last notch...OH by the way found out why I have no back brake hose has cracked right at the banjo going into the reservoir.. looks like I need a new complete hose, any ideas where to go for this thanks Deano.

  6. OK, Lost my back brake on the last two sections of the last trial. bled it got it back and there is a very slight, mind very slight weep out of the gap in the reservoir cap. Brake is very good and I did get a few air bubbles out, could this just be over-fill ? OH, stripping car tomorrow so will let you all know the both jet sizes. Thanks Deano.
  7. Hi Faussy, just had the carb off for a good clean two trials ago, forgot to check the jet numbers... . I was with you until you mentioned the needle clip.
  8. Just to mention it is a Dellorto carb.
  9. Hi all. 280 gassa 2011 clunk noise with a quick hand full of throttle, spoke to a few people at the trials and the overall was the bike is running lean / engine clunk...The fuel screw is 3.5 turns out, the bike idles sweet & runs very well. Could anyone point me in the right direction- Main jet / pilot jet correct setting or factory settings, or how to get rid of the light clunk... Thanks Deano.
  10. The Sherco was a 290 st savage, and now the GasGas is a 280...2011
  11. Hi all, Just got back on the site after a long absence, I'am still not sure why I could not get on here, but there you go... Sherco 2004 mint, bought it in 2013 to get into the sport, sold it two months later after nearly killing myself.... After some deliberation with a friend to keep going bought a cheep gasgas 2004 to scratch and learn. ( IT WORKED ). Held on to that for a year and enjoyed it. OK, sold that and fancied a newish bike...In the back of my mind was " I need to conquer the SHERCO". Well off to the Sherco shop and low and behold 2012 Sherco 290 Savage can only be described as NEW...This bike had no miles at all superb......Cash handed over and a big smile on my face off to the trials I go OH DEAR what a mistake, bad move, This thing was well named SAVAGE. Tried to calm this beast down with no joy...SOLD. Back on a gassa and enjoying my trials again. NOT putting Sherco down at all...I guess its just personal preference. If you are new to the sport I suggest you try before you buy... Have fun " And don't forget to put something back in" OBSERVE.
  12. Just to say, Thanks all for the help locating my problem. It was the thermostat... Cheers Deano.
  13. Thanks Magsy, will give it ago, This wont cause any other wiring failures, This is just making a switch yeh.
  14. Hi, Can any one point me in the right direction on my fan not kicking in, Is there a procedure on what to do first. All wires are connected. Is there only 3 things Fan, rectifier, thermostat. Thanks Deano.
  15. Yip air box first then carb, make shure you get the carb right in.
  16. I struggled at first with my 2012st...slightly loosen the jubilee clip on the inlet side of the carb and slot the right hand side of the air box in first and be patient. then tighten both clips up. It is a bit of a chew.
  17. Thanks Tony, only do easy route so may be ok for the higher gears.
  18. Hi all, and a prosperous new year to you. Just wondered if this is possible with a 2012 sherco. To take two springs out of the clutch to lighten the lever ? My Friend has done this with his 2011 Beta and has a lovely soft lever. If this is possible would I have to put the bolts back after taking the springs away. Thanks Deano. All the best and have a good one.
  19. Thought I might have to extend... The two wires on the Apico are one earth and one male. The original Sherco cut off has one earth and one female that connects to the male wire going to the cdi cut out...!! I will have to change the male for female on the Apico unit.
  20. Hi all, and seasons greetings. Just tried to fit an Apico magnetic lanyard to my 2012 Sherco and its not long enough.. do they do a longer version or will I have to get the heet shrink gun out. Also its a female end rather than a male...
  21. Great photos. Nice to see someone out there... Well done you .
