Been using a BTH mag on my BB32A since 82.Rebuilt twice ,once in the 90s after drowning in the Irfon Crossing(remember Deryk ?)Front wheel didn't see a rock... Bent the rod also. Both mag and rod lasted the year out with regular drying out and a bit of smoke. Rebuilt again in 2014 due to I believe lack of use and stored in a damp garage. My first experience of BTH was in 67 when I started my apprenticeship/fitting working on 10 and 30 MW BTH steam turbines. Finished fitting on turbines in 93 on 500 MW units.(Not BTH)

Jon Bliss was entered on one of his creations, a Cotswold Cub 150 at the Greensmith Trial. It looked the same as this, so possibly he built it. Jon informed me it weighed about 130 Ibs. About the same as my Pre unit BB32A engine and trick footrests put together. We all choose what we want to ride..

The company that made Mikes frames were Fabrication Techniques in Buckingham , now called F T R Moto. I went there with Mike once about his frames and saw the high standard of their workmanship. I believe they were a contact from Mikes GP days . The fellow we met was Steve Bones and as far as Mikes family are aware the jig should still be there. They told me they have not been notified about any change. Hope this may be of help.

When helmets in trials first came into force I remember Mike rode with a mock axe in the top of his helmet . His view at the time. I notice that Ariels have really been developed in the last 20 years .

Just posted my entry for this years event. Missed it twice since 93 on same bike, which was run at a very wet Castle Carr, entering by the lower. gate house. It used sections I have not used since, thank god. It was pretty tough at the time and remember Stanmet having a losing battle trying to head butt a rock and that was after his eventful journey to get to the trial in the first place. His travelling companion was really impressed ,as she spent most of the weekend stuck in a camper van while Stan was playing in the mud in scenic Yorkshire.

I believe it is Bernie Jones? He worked at Williams F1 at Didcot, I think as a welder. He later also rode an Ariel.
