  1. I've set this as an announcement at the top of every forum, but I don't think it's too noticeable. If you can spare the time, I'd like everyone to take a few minutes out to run through a survey I'm running to help me gain a better understanding of my readership and shape the future of the site. Even if you just use the forums, please take the time to run through it if you can as the forums are a key area of the site. Full details here Thanks in advance Andy
  2. Consultant for global software firm dealing with designing solutions around data availability and regulatory compliance. Basically I design data backup, high availability (clustering, mirroring and replication of data) and archiving solutions for enterprise customers. If I go any deeper into what I do it would bore you senseless. It pays the mortgage, pays for the scoob and lets me have this site - that's all that matters
  3. I realised this is the first weekend I've had to myself for over two months so the answer is no. I'm catching up with stuff at home (DIY stuff and tax return ) and apart from that just chilling.
  4. Photobucket - They even give you the correct code to put into the forum software to display your images, but you'll need to resize them down a bit from the links you posted on live chat. They're bleeding massive!
  5. I moved the content of it into Mechanical. Too many forums.
  6. My season was supposedly over, but I MIGHT (emphasis on MIGHT!) pop up to this on Sunday. Will big Rab have a tray of pies?
  7. You'll get noisy images with pretty much any digital camera at low-end ISO levels. I never shoot below ISO 400. I'll up it when the light is good, but never lower it. I use a couple of 1GB cards in both the 1D and the 10D with a couple of 512MBs as backup. Each photo I take is between 3MB and 5MB. I don't use burst mode. As I keep telling Jake, that's for "hit and hope" photographers!
  8. Can recommend The Digital Camera Company. Get a lot of my stuff from them (latest was a couple of compact flash cards just a week ago) and always good prices and fast delivery. The S5600 from them is
  9. I don't think the Observer saw it, but there was another guy with him who told him what had happened.

    Dear Dad...

Nah - that has to have been done by a chick!

    Dear Dad...

Hey Dad, A funny thing happened when I got home last night. You're gonna love this, I can see you laughing and saying You silly Bugger" Ha Ha Ha! My foot accidentally slipped off the brake pedal and jammed down on the accelerator as I was coming up the driveway. I'm really sorry, but I know you will find forgiveness in your heart. If you need me, I have spent the night out side the Naval Recruiting office and I'll be home in about 6 years. Your Son, David Scroll down...
  12. Yup, I was taking the old fella round. His heart even survived the Scooby. He did get a "Vinnie, move yer right leg in!" after a few shots... ...but I took him to the CB for a beer or two and he didn't seem too disturbed by the experience
  13. Don't deal with it through the forums. It won't work. It's something I badly need to update. Watch this space.
  14. Scott Trial Section breakdown sections.doc boards.pdf
  15. AAARGHHHH! How many "Scott Trial" topics do we need on these forums? This makes six and I've already merged another two making EIGHT Topics on the same bleeding event! ALL Please post in an existing topic for a subject if one exists. This topic closed. I will attach full results to one of the other five.

    Scott Trial

As you are only too aware, it is possible to ride and not finish!

Read the front page! Are you French or something?!
  18. I'm not aware of a reporter who was there who has permissions to post on Trials Central. With the exception of myself all those who have permission to post on this site do so either on behalf of a Club or Centre or on behalf of a rider. i.e. There is a bias to their reporting. The fact remains that it is down to the organisers to provide event follow-up if they want press coverage. You managed to post your own son's results in the forums so it obviously wasn't down to lack of time. Why couldn't you have taken the time to email me the results from the Indoor event? At least from that I would have had something to work from.
  19. Alan, I take serious offence at this. You KNOW I do whatever I can to promote Youth Trials both in the UK and abroad. You complain I haven't reported anything on this event, but have you considered that might be due to the fact I received no report on it from the organisers? Events I attend I am happy to write reports on as I was there. Events I don't attend then my crystal ball might need a bit of polishing... Did you or anyone else from IOWMCC send out a post-event press-release? NO. Did you even email me results? NO. You have, as a Club, the appropriate permissions to post news directly to the front page of Trials Central. Have you done so? NO. I rest my case. I can't speak for TMX, but suspect they're in the same position I am. If you don't provide the news then we can't publicise it. End of story. Don't come on here throwing your toys out of your pram about lack of reporting if you're not prepared to work with those who will help you. It only makes you look slightly daft...
  20. Be careful in your use of the word "fags" - remember it has an entirely different meaning to our American readers!
  21. I could rant forever on this topic. All I will say is I am VERY envious of my parents. My Dad was born in 1945, my Mum in 1946. There was never a better time to be on this planet in my opinion Post-WWII it was hard, but they hit their teenage years at the most exciting time ever. Late 50's, 60's was an awesome time to grow up if you look into it. Rock 'n' Roll was new, the Beatnick thing was new, the world was changing, but in a positive way. We then move on to when I was a kid. We played outside from dawn till dusk and as long as you were home by dark or when your Mum shouted out the window then all was fine. There was no hassle. We feared nobody except the local bobbie who'd give us a clip round the ear if we gave him any cheek. We now see news that kids are obese because parents are too scared to let them go out and play. We see news that Merseyside police are proposing using airborne drones to police the youth. We see news that schools are to gain approval to deploy airport style metal detectors. What the hell is going on? In my opinion, the Government have really lost the grip on the values that made this country once great and, I'm afraid, a lot of that is due to EU membership and the influence our relationship with the USA and it's litigious "sue for everything and sue big time" nature has had on our traditional values. The more time I spend in places like Italy or Spain, the more I'm tempted to jack it all in and move there. Family circumstances mean I can't right now, but in my opinion, Britain sucks...
  22. Well if he hadn't posted bleedin' text-talk I'd have had no reason to go near the topic, would I...
  23. Not quite true. I laughed in your face when you asked dumb question of the year "Is Dougie fit for the Scott?" I'll be taking my
