I don't have a problem with "carb", but text talk is a no-no. Because a) it's lazy and B ) the terms and conditions of use of these forums - which you agreed to when you signed up - clearly state that text talk is not permitted. A copy of the terms and conditions of use can be found here

Watching this as it's an interesting topic. To me... Retired = Unable physically or mechanically to further compete in the event. Withdrawn = It was not in the spirit or interest of the event to continue or there were sufficient complaints to justify a withdrawal. Not the same thing - not by a long shot. I think he did what he felt was right and withdrew his lad. The lad did not retire. He withdrew under pressure. Whether he should have been riding that class or not is an entirely different argument.
  3. That's what happened in '04! Enjoyed myself in the morning. The afternoon was bloody miserable. BTW, full results now up on front page. Click me
  4. Your report is on the front page now. I've got your application to post news, but am up to my ears in migrating websites to new hardware. It may be a week or so before I get round to sorting it out. Thanks for the report
  5. I've got full results and they'll be front page shortly - Monday night is always a busy night. No photos (well not from me anyway). I had the joys of 15 hours of moving websites yesterday due to losing Saturday How was the weather yesterday?
  6. Yes. They'll go on the front page tonight. Results - A Route: Gary McDonald-5, Gavin Johnstone-27, Gary Kennedy-30, Roger Mount-35, Neil Dawson-38, Grant Adamson-43, Non expert- J. McDougal-61, Novice - S. Boyd-125. Results - B Route: Daren Chalmers-12, Ian McPhail-19, Tony Cook-24, Alastair Milligan-25, G. Murray-28, G. McIntosh-29, Novice- C. Stewart-73.
  7. Blimey. From Scotland to the US in a week. I'm impressed! Thanks for your kind words
  8. If anybody else was, like me, taken by the backing music, it's The Church - Under The Milky Way Tonight. Never heard it before, but it's a great track so Googled a bit. Got a kinda Beloved ring to it. The Aussies seem great at pulling these retro bands out of the hat at big events. Seeing Midnight Oil doing Beds Are Burning at the closing of the 2000 Sydney Olympics was awesome. And as a bonus they even gave us Kylie
  9. Cool That'll be something to tell the grandkids!
  10. Get her out somewhere with a piano. She'll tell you all about how she's a trained concert pianist then wuss out when you challenge her to prove it It adds more to the story if Ishy is snoring in the background, BTW
  11. You ain't having a booze-up without me and until I know my Japan/USA flight details I can't say how much time I'll have at the SSDT
  12. Good stuff. It would be a boring world if we all got along, but yeah - the Beave is more controversial than most (putting it mildly!) and I can understand folk saying enough is enough! However, we've a good community here and I don't want folk to leave because of any individual.
  13. There is an option for anyone not wishing to read posts by any user. Simply click on "My Controls" up near the top of the page then on the left under "Options" you'll see "Manage Ignored Users". Add that user and bang - they're gone.
  14. Absolutely definitely. I checked each envelope against my spreadsheet before posting.
  15. I'm going out to the Japan World Round. Don't know if there will be anybody selling this kind of thing onsite, but if there are then I'm happy to take a few back if there's demand (and the price is right - obviously!)
  16. Hmmm.... Sheffield Indoor - Sell-out every year. Sheffield Indoor - 2006 - Largest waterfall obstacle ever seen anywhere in the world at an Indoor event. Sheffield Indoor - Our crowds appreciate all the riders and don't boo riders from outwith their own country. Spain also gave us Octagon. Enough said!
  17. A series of urban Trials. Along the lines of the Red Bull one in Manchester. That pulled in the punters aplenty and would help to spread the word.
  18. I should ban you for such flagrant abuse of the forums, but instead I'll stick in a fiver. It is relatively local to me after all and is for a good cause
  19. This is new stuff to me. What is it about the quality that makes it poor? I'm open to you saying the quality is poor, but need that quantified as to what exactly makes it "poor". What would you want to make it better? Tell me that and I'll fix it.
  20. Guys - I want to know of any problems with them i.e. lack of stick when they get wet or come off when the bike is washed etc. The guy assured me that wouldn't be a problem if they were applied properly, but I'm holding off on ordering other sizes until I'm sure.
  21. I'm never going back to that Trial again! I went two years ago and wet? I was like a drowned rat. Being serious, I'd love to go and it was in my plans to, but I've a server upgrade to do before the end of the month so that's going to take all my time.
  22. And I should have checked the forums before replying to your PM
