No? Google says different.

Love him or hate him, Lane "when I was with Arnie..." Leavitt is one of the most controversial characters on the US Trials Circuit.
He recently registered for these forums, and although I've nothing at all against the guy, am aware of his past abilities to upset people. However, rather than just reject his efforts to be part of the Trials Central community, I took a straw poll today. The results were overwhelmingly in favour of allowing him to stir things up as only he can!

Okay, now I've recovered enough to post a sensible reply...
The minimum quantity to make it viable is 250. As Psycho correctly raises - could I guarantee that 250 Trials riders will put their hands in their pockets? The answer is "no". I'd love to do it, but I could not guarantee that 10 Trials Riders would put their hands in their pockets! Any other motorsport I'd say yes, but not Trials. That makes it too risky for me to take on. There isn't money in the kitty to take a loss like that.
Kinell's idea is good. One month of full access to trialsphotos.com is

I would type a sensible reply, but I just wet myself laughing at Bikespace's response.

To get a decent price you have to order a minimum quantity. That minimum quantity is more than I believe I could sell.

I was going to do a World Championship one, but couldn't take the risk of poor sales.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Love it!

I'm saddened by the demise of Trialsworld, but it's a tough one to call. Being honest, I initially felt they shafted TBM. TBM came up with the idea and those who've been around a while will remember Trials Central positively supported them and vice versa. The carpet was ripped from under their feet so I can totally understand the TBM readers "told you so" attitude.
However, in saying that, Johnston Press were very well positioned to promote the sport and had more funds than the smaller players in the market. No, I didn't subscribe to it personally - I get enough of Trials as it is, but then I guess that makes me as guilty as everyone else who didn't subscribe for not supporting it.
As for pandering to factories/importers - that's so easy for Joe Rider to sit at home and comment on. On this side of the fence it's not as straightforward. I got a cheque from Shirty yesterday towards the running costs of this site. He (and the other sponsors of this site) are the guys that keep this site free for you. Without their support the only alternative would be to charge a subscription. This site runs at a loss, but it's a hobby and every hobby costs so I'll take some hit. My costs keep rising and the one thing I'm not prepared to do is upset my sponsors in any way. Simple fact - I look after those who look after me and this site - I couldn't afford to run it without their support.
If you, as Trials Central users, tell me you're prepared to subscribe to this site to cover the costs (I won't hold my breath ) that are currently covered by our sponsors then I'll revisit the situation. It's simple economics
My major concern over the death of Trialsworld is the 2006 UK World Round. It needs a major sponsor to be viable. Who else can afford it?

This is a real shame. The sport will never develop without decent coverage.
-
This will belong in the UK forum then.
-
Dougie will be there. That's confirmed. Along with Amos Bilbao and Ben Hemingway. Amos will give mechanical tips and Ben will give make-up tips

R2W? On a Sherco? Blimey! Raga will never marry you now

The Guggenheim? I've got the book. Looks awesome.

It's because Octagon still have the rights to Video for both Indoor and Outdoor - unfortunately. They lost the Outdoor promotional rights to G2F (Thank God. You should have seen their press releases. Written by Manuel a la Fawlty Towers - and I'm not kidding...), but somehow managed to retain the video rights. I'd love to see somebody decent who actually cares take it on and do it properly. I think it would be a winner.

Let's just say that DanGlee Bitz doesn't have any!
-
One I would say is worth getting is the TrialsTV Duluth DVD set - even if it's just to cringe and go "Ouch!" at Raga's crash. I've not had time to watch both discs right through yet, but what I've seen is really good.

Don't shoot the messenger! that was posted directly as received as I was at work and supposed to be doing my real job!

Calendar has been partially tidied for publication. It will be completed and published tonight.

Low turnout? There were over 60. I wouldn't call that a low turnout!

C'mon guys - no advertising on the forums. That's the rules. Please delete any references to EBay etc or this thread will be pulled.
