Was talking to Crosser about this tonight afterwards and he said his job was so much harder when Dougie didn't qualify. Everybody is supporting him and if he ain't there then who are they to support? (for those outwith the UK, Crosser is the UK Scorpa importer and compere for Sheffield Indoor) Cabestany was awesome tonight. Given that's a new bike he's not had that much time with and a new team, he was totally amazing. I stopped taking photos of him at one point just so I could watch him ride. As far as Fuji skipping sections goes, that was a definite game plan and I agree with comments that were made tonight at Sheffield about people paying good money to see the World's best ride sections, not for them to skip them. There should be a penalty for a non-attempt. PS. Sound was fine from where I was standing

As far as the website goes, I can only apologise. Trials Central became a victim of it's own success. The chat system was tested, but not under load. So many people logged on it simply couldn't cope. My thanks go to r2w for his efforts and improvisation to get round the problem.

You'll love it - guaranteed. Outdoor World rounds are great, but because they're not in an enclosed space you don't get the atmosphere you do at an Indoor. Every door at Sheffield will have a sign on it saying "NO AIR HORNS" - what a waste of time printing those is Every bugger has one!

I'll be in the Arena. Kinell will be in the crowd using my mobile to send results to Heath who will be at home and Heath will update the site. I'd have sorted a press pass and got Kinell down in the Arena too with my spare camera, but the daft sod is taking his missus Teamwork!

I wish I could realistically describe what it's like down on the arena floor . The atmosphere and noise is just awesome (especially those bloody airhorns!). Never experienced anything like it - especially when the riders first come out. Last four of 33 batteries in the charger now! And this year I'll try not to lose a lens (Which I'm eternally grateful to Ray Archer for handing in). I have to thank Jake too for his complimentary pass to the Dougie hospitality.

I don't know much about how this whole forum thing works, but my understanding is it reports users logged in and active in the past 15 minutes, not those currently logged in. I could be wrong though, because as I say I don't really understand how it works.

Good article Billy. I have a searchable archive of Technical Articles on the site that has a great selection by Ron Milam, but nothing new for a while. I'd be keen to add this and anything else you may find in your archives <cough> - fully credited, of course.
