Last time I was up there the wind nearly had me taking the *very* fast route to the bottom. Good luck!

It's true that he's gone to Sherco. I got that direct from Sherco themselves, but held off until there was an official release (which has never appeared). As for the 2T/4T thing, dunno but I guess we'll find out a week on Saturday!
-
Ishy finished the 2002 SSDT on a Sherco 125 so it's not down to the bike.

You're absolutely right in him having the right backing. I've been to so many youth Trials where fathers are constantly putting their kids down if they don't perform to their expectations. Some of the stuff I've heard literally disgusts me. Julian is always full of encouragement even if Alexz hasn't ridden a section well. That's what's needed, not "Do you ******* realise how ******** much I spent on that ******* bike?" and "You're ******* useless" type comments.
The danger with Alexz (and our other up and coming riders) is discovering women!

I use flash all the time and have had no problem whatsoever. Not once have I had a rider complain about me distracting him (or her) and that counts at countless Clubman Trials, various Nationals, the SSDT, the Scott, World Rounds and probably most notably - Youth Championship Rounds. If anybody is likely to be unused to a flashgun in a high-pressure Trials environment it is the Youths, but not once has there been a complaint, despite me using a high-power flashgun. I've never heard of Eric Kitchen or Barry Robinson getting complaints either.
If riders are complaining then they ain't concentrating on the matter in hand and are blaming the flash for their failings.

A webcam at the Parc Ferme was something I looked into during my time of involvement, but the costs for a short period were way beyond what was affordable.

Dougie Lampkin is doing his usual annual training days. Click for details
Steve Saunders also usually runs Trials schools in the summer, but I have no info for 2005. By all accounts they're very good. His website is www.trialschool.com - it's worth visiting just to watch the cool Flash intro if nothing else.
Both the above are run in the UK.
-
You're wonder Bra, not Dougie bleedin' Lampkin!
-
That's exactly what Wee Jean said

There are two for sale in the Classified Ads. Clicky

Hypothetical situation:
I arrange for a TC member to trial, say the Mont 4RT and write a review of it. They write that, in their opinion, the bike is awful. Are Sandifords going to renew their advertising on the site? I think not. TMX are in the same situation.

The full list of dates/venues has been published by the FIM and is now on the front page here.

One thing I noticed on my travels this year....
Poor Arthur was in and out of a section at the British round at Kinloch constantly re-straightening a metal flag holder that was getting bent with every rider. At the Scott, with the wooden garden "canes" they use, they need a serious whack to snap them. They've got a good bit of bend in them and just spring back up.

Not sure about the gold. When I sorted insurance for the Scooby I was asked if it had gold wheels. My answer was "I'm not THAT pretentious!" Shame he can't spell Trials - probably get more hits through the EBay search.
-
That's trialstalk.co.uk not .com. .com is some bike trials site.
-
This sounds like one for John Collins to clarify.
PS. Tordi - horsey riders aren't called "Jimmy". It's more like Tarquin or Rupert
-
I'm sure it's the same with every club and the AGM is the place to raise any issues or concerns. I'm closing this thread before it gets any more vocal.
-
I've been watching all day for the 20,000th forum post and Charlie posted it with the above post! It was a little secret (for obvious reasons!) competition I was running.
Drop me a line at website AT trialscentral.com with your address and there'll be a few sets of TC stickers winging their way Stateside!

Limited edition, individually signed print. I'd run the story now, but I don't want to push the TC Birthday story down just yet.
PS. Dougie did have a book, but he finished colouring it in
-
It's not a book, it's a limited edition print. I'll be running the story tomorrow.
-
Yeah, but it's natural for the old biddies to go off somewhere warmer in the cold season. we expect it
-
Bah humbug. You don't care about Trials in Florida - you just want to let us poor sods left in miserable Britain that you're off to Florida for Crimbo
-
This is great! If (and it's looking more like "when" right now) I come to Duluth next year, all I have to do is wear a loud hawaiin shirt (I've got a couple of them!) and Ringo gets the blame for anything I do! Cooool!
-
Full results for this have just gone up on the front page. Would have been sooner, but I've been away.
