I had a conversation with JD (of TMX fame) at the finish of the Scott about what makes folk want to put themselves through so much torture and physical pain and neither of us could figure it out. We both decided we're happier BEHIND the lens! It obviously hurts even the fittest so... what makes YOU do it?

Katy did brilliantly and well done to her. Out of time, but to get round is a remarkable achievement. That big smile in the presentation photo is TOTALLY justified.

Right, I'm really, really drunk so am not going to say too much. Jarvis won. Ian Austermuhle was second and unfortunately that's all I can remember without looking through the photos on the camera and I'm not up to that! Full results and loadsa photos tomorrow when I get home.

I don't care what YD wears! I'm just chuffed to bits this has happened at all. Can't thank Dabber enough.

2 x Trials Central Polo Shirts. Size XL only (as that's all that's left and I can't afford another run right now)

What the cool Observer will be wearing this year.

I've deleted the final comments to this thread as it appears to have been a genuine oversight and I don't think "naming and shaming" is appropriate in this instance. I do hope that nobody "leaves" over this.
I'm also going to close the thread to avoid any further comment on it.

I have the full article in English and will be posting it tonight. (But, yes - that's how it reads to me too)

Yup. Under the Clubman results.

Yup. We never had sigs like that when I was that age

He can if he knows where his Caps Lock key is, because you don't!

So which one was it? Perce or Dabster?
I'd be grateful for full official results as soon as anyone can get them to me. website AT trialscentral.com

Ummm, why do you care? This is a bit worrying. Stalker alert!

Kings Head in Richmond. Time varies, but top tip for the night is get as many rounds in as possible when you get served. It's a nightmare getting to the bar.
-
Looks a tad like the Yockenthwaite Bog Monster.
-
1978 SSDT. All spot on. Probably off the Press Release list after publishing it!
-
This one is kinda obvious. No idea who owns copyright on it , but I think it's just such a fantastic photo it deserves showing. Question is - name the year.
Edit: I just realised that whilst some of you may recognise the guy as Martin Lampkin, many of the younger generation on the forums will not and will probably not put the two and two together to realise that's him and his son on the bike. A son by the name of Lampkin....now who could that possibly be???!!!!

Was talking to Sid on Sunday. He was minding for James.
However, that's not why I reply. Toofast - I can't email you. It's bouncing saying Host unknown (Name server: absamail.co.za: host not found)

Where's the "He phones from Birmingham to say he's out of fuel" option?
-
It just needs to be signed "Angry, Tunbridge Wells" and it's perfect!
I spent 90% of my life involved in this sport talking to Yorkshiremen. I don't understand a bleeding word, but I have learned to nod politely

ISSSSSSHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!! Teach t'lad, please.

99% of the problems with the busy sections are down to people parking inconsiderately. One car parked either side of a single-track road with just enough space to get a family car through between them. Along comes Mr. Transit support vehicle and he's too wide to get through, but there are 40 or 50 others behind him. He can't go forward, he can't go back so everything grinds to a halt.
Surrender isn't named for the riders - it's named for the spectators because you just give up trying to move your car and it's all down to folk not thinking before they park up. I sat for over an hour last year just trying to get past that one section - and it wasn't even on my list of sections to go to, I was just passing through! <rant over>
