  1. I'm off, I can take afew photos but can't garauntee good photos or any of any good sections because I have never been before so I am bound to get lost.

Marky boy, is that Mark a.k.a. divy?

It was my first time there last year and I wasn't at any sections I'd call particularly spectacular, but still got some good photos and had a great weekend - even though I froze my nuts off. Stayed in the Milburn Hotel in Rosedale the night before - highly recommend it. Not expensive, food was fantastic and the beer was good

I'd be back this year if I could, but can't for family reasons. If you can get any photos then please email to website AT trialscentral.com - I'd be eternally grateful and may possibly even fire a few TC sticker sets your way :D

  2. To say the promoters should not profit is like saying Bernie Ecclestone shouldn't profit from F1 or Frank Warren shouldn't profit from boxing. Ridiculous.

I personally hope Jake & Martin make enough out of this to justify doing it again. And again. And again. Both are perfectionists and very good at what they do, but over and above that they are passionate about the sport and that shows. You may have noticed that Trials Central is listed on the site as an event partner. We're proud to be there and will be doing whatever we can to promote the event and encourage as large a turnout as possible.

  3. I thought from Nigel's apparently successful forays into twin-shock national championship events, that he was an accomplished and talented rider, with many years of experience competing in national level events?

I knew there had to be more to him than just being a grumpy old bugger

  4. This is the kind of thing I'm looking for in this forum! I'll change it to "previews and reviews". My initial post probably indicated my reservations about setting up a forum like this, but if it can be used as a "I'm riding x next week, I rode it last year and it's pretty good/easy/okay/hard" type forum then I'm cool with it.

  5. Check out www.xboost.co.uk they have private land to ride, bikes to rent, the lot. Take your kit and licence ad you should be good to go. They are 13 miles outside Edinburgh

XBoost disappointed me. I contacted them re going out and doing a free feature on them and the services on offer. Never even bothered to reply.

  6. GREAT pic ishy. And dont they always look better in black and white eh!?

I wish I was a bit better with a camera, 'cause I like pictures of people...but hate "posed" pictures.

In trials...if you catch the moment, you can get some of the best smiles...AND grimaces that you'll ever see.

Or if you photograph Perce you get the obligatory tongue sticking out :D

I did think of converting some of last year's pre-65 to B&W or even sepia tones to see how they looked, but never got round to it.

  7. Perhaps we could have a forum to discuss which are the best venues in different areas of the country, which trials are worth travelling for, which are the good road trials (we have some good 2 laps of 18-20 section trials eg; Stocksbridge trial, Hipwell trial etc) that are better than many of the nationals.

Which trials are not worth bothering with.

Some organisers put on events which really suit beginners but you don't till you get there.

I can easily set this up if there's demand. It's up to you lot!

  8. If they are from the forums then you should seek permission from whoever posted them (assuming they took/own them). If they are from any article on this site then the answer is no, I'm afraid. That would be outwith the terms that the photos are supplied to me under.
