That wasn't a coolbox. That was a "Portamorgue"

I just knew this was going to be one of those threads....!

Looking into it, there's a bit more to it than first thought. These emails are sent by web robots that exploit a security loophole in one of the Classified System programs. I'll find a fix, but it's going to take a while. In the meantime, a suitable warning has been put up when users are placing ads.

It's being held in Moutier. Clicky for map

I had a quick look yesterday at disabling the display of email addresses within the Classifieds system so that they are replaced with a dialog box to contact sender (at present users have the choice). I'll be making the necessary changes over the weekend at some point and this will stop any harvesting of email addresses by web bots. I'll also put some kind of warning in the system. I hope nobody would ever be daft enough to be taken in by these losers, but when you hear how many folk were taken in by 419 scammers...

I tried emailing Shan about this, but it bounced. Hopefully he reads this!
For those who are not aware, I supplied a few photos of Dennis Sweeten and Jarvis in the SSDT for Trials Competition. Shan said he'd send me a copy so I could see my work in print. Well, it arrived yesterday.
I don't know what I was expecting, but it certainly wasn't something as well put together and professional as turned up. Good and lengthy write-up's of events and plenty photos. Similar in layout to our Trials and Motocross News, but obviously without the MX part!
You guys are lucky to have a dedicated, quality publication for the sport.
Thanks Shan!

I had a similar email from another user recently questionining the legitimacy of an enquiry. Unfortunately, by providing a free service, I am powerless to stop this kind of thing - if I could, I would. It's very much a case of "seller beware". My advice is, if in any kind of doubt, don't even respond. Or - if you must reply, say you are a police officer and need to check some details first. Odds on you'll never hear another word

The 10 Questions thing was totally down to Jake. I knew nothing until the first one came in which I had a good laugh at. Then another came in....then another.... Great idea!
Thanks to both Jake & Craig - particularly for being out in the lousy weather on Saturday.

I can't believe Ishy came up with Wireless. "Eeee Wireless, lad? Does't mean I can listen to t'Archers?"
-
I'm afraid it's not coming out to play. It was to appear at the Japan round only.

Macs are for girls and hairdressers - Real men run Linux!

I would echo the sentiments of those already commented - top weekend and many, many thanks to Bradford & District for all their hard work.
Two *very* subdued lasses both last night and in the car coming home today....
Photos later, but now - Shower!

Before I publish I want to check on copyright of the cartoons in it. Don't want to be publishing somebody's work without their permission.
-
The time zone difference kinda rules that out.

The fridge will be on in the back of the car and you can be assured that after 3-4hours with two of MacBeth's witches in the car I'll be more than ready for beer!
-
Be good to meet up with those I don't already know. Boof - if I'm there before you, I'll have a cold one ready!
-
I'll put it on the front page tonight in Word & PDF Formats

Can't you burn your own burgers?
There will be no shortage of barbecue-looker-afters.
-
I'm having mental images that I really don't want to be having!
-
Perce, I looked into what we discussed and think these would meet my requirements.
