One and the same. I'm still very much on a learning curve myself having made the dive into digital SLR last year (Canon 10D).

Welcome! Good to have another Trials photographer on board. If you want to do photos for publicity then I'm happy to do so!

It was the first time I'd ever been to the Pre-65 and that was the only thing that marred what was otherwise a great Trial. It's not such a problem at the Six-days as it's well publicised that spectators bikes are not permitted on any part of the course and on the whole, people respect that (there is the odd moron who thinks they know better i.e. Father & son, Ben Nevis, Saturday.) I could find nothing in the Pre-65 programme saying anything about spectators bikes staying off the course, although to me it would only be common sense. It's something that needs to be addressed though, not only from an insurance point of view, but for ensuring the continuation and success of both events.

I was VERY disappointed in the Pre-65 in the respect of non-competitors abusing the course. The walk up to Pipeline on Friday I was getting out of the way of more spectators bikes than I was competitors. I don't mind giving way to Competitors or Officials, but I do object to stopping for someone who's too lazy to walk it. Same on Saturday up to Mamore. It was like the M25 up there. All these people are doing is giving the walkers and tree-huggers more ammo to kill Trials off and for only one reason - laziness.

I can't repeat what these two lasses said when I said I was there from Hello! magazine, but if anybody knows them then please let them know they're now famous!

He'd better watch himself. She's "well fit" and there's competition out there (She'll know what I mean!!)

Rock was about the size of a football. That's it just getting it's final nudge out of the way.

Exclusion would work - it would only take one to be excluded for word to get round and you can be damned sure nobody else would do it. Exactly the same as the two lads that were excluded for riding up the steps at the Ballachulish Bridge. Bet nobody did it the year after! There's no doubt in my mind that things have become "softer" since I first got involved back in '89.

On a seperate note, the front page has just been updated with ALL my photos sorted by rider name. This includes those from Fri and Sat that haven't been seen and two versions - one for dial-up and one for broadband users.

Ahhh - the old "miss the moors to Laggan Locks" trick. That needs to be picked up on and an observer posted at the bottom of the road to Laggan. Send them back. That'll sort them out.

Short-sighted indeed. As long as criticism is constructive I don't see any problem with it. How else are the organisers going to get feedback if everybody does the old church mouse thing?

Well done for finishing - you looked like you could hardly walk the sections, never mind ride them! I'll post the photo tonight. It's very much a one-off though as I'm not in the habit of photographing guys with their trousers round their ankles!

Crosser completed on a different bike, but on a no-award basis. There is however the story of a rider (who shall remain anonymous) who went out on one colour of bike and turned in a different...
