I'm expecting first lap resultsin the next hour or so, but it's almost impossible to judge when they'll actually appear. Final results probably between 11 and midnight.

It's VITAL that younger riders act on this too. Don't bother siting there thinking it will do no good and that nobody will listen to you. If you write to your MP then he HAS to respond.
I cant write as a rider, but I am writing offering a visit to this site to see the photos and give an actual insight.
I'm still managing to avoid the temptation to write "...and unlike the horsey brigade, motorcycles don't s*** all over the place."
-
There you go. Will you stop going on about it now please?

One of the Canucks wrote a great diary of his experiences in either 2000 or 2002. I thought it was Guy Smeeth, but I can't find anything online so I could be wrong. It was definitely on a website somewhere.

And this is what he had to say:
"This is from the 1992 Scottish. My father and I flew over with bike broken down into these three boxes. Highlights were; the customs agent at Heathrow calling his mates over to see the bike parts in the X-Ray machine! I told him we were off to the Six-Days in Fort William and he thought that was brilliant! Even better was the lady who checked our bags for the commuter flight up to Glasgow. She couldn't lift the box that I had built out of plywood to carry both wheels and some tools. She had me lift it up onto the rollers and give it a nudge down!!!! I could hear it picking up speed, and smashing into something at the bottom. I knew my case would survive any impact, but it didn't sound good though. Topped off by my luggage ( 92 Beta Zero) got lost and sent to Edinburgh instead of Glasgow!!
Brilliant cars you guys have over there!!! The bike fits perfectly into our rented Vauxhaull SR 1.4 sports car!!! Dam steering wheel is on the wrong side, but other than that, great car!!"

I've still got them:
Bike in a box...
-
Yeah, but who'd buy a bike that crashes at random, that you constantly have to apply fixes to and you have to upgrade every 6 months?
-
Joking? No. See:

Return flights to Belfast Int from Edin cost me

You supply the photos (or feel free to use any of mine from the galleries- just tell me which), give me a bit of music and I'll do you a looping Flash vid for a PC or laptop (like my SSDT one and soon to be released Scott Trial one)

Stuart, Kinell and myself don't drink. we may be willing to meet and quote passages from the bible if that would be of interest?
-
Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden, but don't tell anybody.

I 'ear what you're saying...

and if flying Easyjet then they are rigid on their 40 minute check-in. The check-in gate closes 40 mins before and that's it. No arguments.

How does it react to beer-induced vomit?

John Isherwood talks a load of bollox........oh...hang on....everybody knows that already
Ahhh....got it!
At weekends, Brian Curran likes to dress up in women's clothing and prefers people to call him Susan.
(BTW - plenty people will verify that last statement, I'm sure!)
-
by then you'll have practiced so much you'll be good enough to enter <stifles laugh>
-
I wanted to make it longer. It's very hard to fit a six day event into under three minutes and God knows, I've enough photos from over the years to choose from! However, I have to think of those still on dial-up.
-
Well StuartC has sorted the accomodation and the flight tickets are booked. All I need now is for someone to receive the texts and the live updates are on!

I've always liked that photo (apart from the shadow cast by the statue), but never really noticed the guy till I was putting the video together. Unfortunately I think he's taking a photo and not saluting. A military man wouldn't salute with his left hand.
-
I wondered when the lyrics would come up!
There's no meaning to my choice of that song other than the music and tempo fitted and it created the right atmosphere without sounding stereotypically tacky!!
I have another one lined up for this year's montage!

There's a thread already open on this topic in the "Anything Goes" Forum:

One thing that's not on your list, but has been mentioned many times over the years is disposable cameras. You'll see sights that few get to see and you certainly don't want to be taking an expensive digital with you...
