As we're seeing again here in France this weekend, the World Championship has a LOT bigger problems than the stop/no-stop rule...
-
If you weren't there, how do you know this?
-
Horrible trying to do anything with this from a very slow internet connection in Toulouse airport so everything is here:

Just had an email saying the 2015 Scorpas will be shown this weekend in France. Literally in the airport right now heading out there so stay tuned to TC for pics, hopefully tomorrow but depends when they decide to unveil

Fort William was twice - 2010 and 2011. Great venue, but its location was its downfall. Has to be somewhere more central to your potential customer base.
As for closing off streets etc, what works in mainland Europe doesn't necessarily work in the UK. Yes, streets can be closed, but at a price. You then have all the associated risk assessments and other red tape bollocks in the UK that they don't seem to face elsewhere.
A bit part of the problem with finding venues are the demands placed by the FIM - accessibility and hard standing for mahoosive trucks, power etc etc.

If you're going by the most online number at the bottom of the forum index, that resets itself at random for some reason (it currently says 108). Most online I've seen at any time is around 600 across entire site.
Must admit I don't check stats all that often, but I did do some trend analysis a few months ago, plotting visits/visitors/page views monthly for the past 3 years and the site continues to show steady growth.
-
Why do you call it WTC when that is the common acronym for the World Trial(s) Championship? That's just plain confusing.

Have you searched for yourself here?

Vince has been in touch and confirms Haven are still very much in business.
"We are still trading as usual, but because of issues with our website, at the moment we are contactable by phone or email. If they go to www.haventrialsport.co.uk it will tell them our contact details."
The website may not re-appear in the short-term as they are using this opportunity to look at redeveloping and relaunching it.

Team Trials UK's Horne family were broken into last night. Dave Horne and family lost their bikes hours before setting off to the next round of the British Championship in Devon. Please keep a look out for - 2013 Sherco 300 No. VNBS529TRCA025809, Husqy junior motocross, KTM junior motocross, Oset 20" Lite, Oset 16R and an Oset 12".
The trials bikes had Trials UK special stickers on but the thieves also took the standard Sherco plastics too so the Sherco may be restored to original before being sold.
They destroyed the family's garage to get the bikes and have caused a great deal of costly damage and emotional pain not only for Dave and Michelle but mostly for Dominic, Alex & Matthew.
Anyone with any information regarding this incident should contact PC Smith at Shipley Police station (Dial 101) quoting crime reference number 212343

Because bollocks isn't in the swear filter.
-
That is correct. The tight time and long sections, after the riders had asked for and been declined an extension to the overall running time, was the final straw. This is something that has been building up for some time. It is just unfortunate it happened at a brand new venue in a new "country". I really hope it doesn't put the organisers off doing it again as everything else was fantastic - from paddock to sections - absolutely everything was spot on.
-
The issue is not so much Joe Bloggs screen-grabbing a photo of himself to put on whatever social media network is flavour of the month, it's the businesses who should know better ripping photos to promote brand/rider/product or for commercial gain or other websites nicking stuff and using them on their own stories without even crediting.
-
Or the offender will get an invoice for the use of them and legal steps taken to enforce if not paid. Did I spend £500 on flights to Corsica and take two days off work for others to rip off my stuff? Of course not. This really is a problem and not just for me. It's widespread due to the totally false belief that if something is on the internet it is in the public domain and therefore "free" which is, of course, a load of bollocks. However, I don't want to drag this topic off course.

They did indeed
Hate having to do it, but theft of photos is a real problem these days. These images are COPYRIGHT and must not be used anywhere else.

Everything gone to pieces. 2 hours late. Top riders still not finished second lap. Nobody seems to know what's happening.
-
Topic moved. Please post bike-specific questions in the relevant bike forum as per red instructions on forum index.

That was quite funny for a Belgian

Now tell them about the one that you found that was the same size as your boabie.

Is he of the bitey kind? Either way, I wouldn't be poking a snake with a stick. No way, no chance, no how.
-
He was back again this year and even brought a mate with him in contrasting yellow day-glo In fact, bloody hi-vis reflective jackets and trousers were everywhere this year. Next year, I'm taking a sniper rifle and woe betide anyone glowing like they've had a holiday in Chernobyl who gets in my sights

The observer in question has been so concerned about the fallout from this video that they're talking about not coming back. The SSDT needs observers more than it needs pointless debates on the internet. Topic closed.

A fair number of our regular posters are attending some little club trial up in Scotland this week. Be patient.
