  1. After several hundred hours worth of work, I am delighted to announce that the sadly-neglected sister site to Trials Central has had a complete and total makeover and am extremely pleased to launch an all-new TRIALSPHOTOS.COM TRIALSPHOTOS.COM was launched in 2005 and, whilst the software we used was sufficient, things have moved on a great deal since that time. The site had a bad habit of not letting us know when orders for photo prints had been placed, leading to delays and problems in fulfilling orders. The all-new TRIALSPHOTOS.COM isn't an upgrade to the old site, but a totally new website with loads of new features. Not only does it make it easier for you to browse and search photos, but you can also track your orders simply and easily online. As you can imagine, adding thousands of photos and correctly identifying them all and ensuring they are all searchable by rider name and location is a mammoth task. So far I've added over 3000 SSDT photos from 2008 right up to this year's SSDT. I will be adding more photos from both the SSDT in previous years and also other events, but it's a lengthy (and very tedious!) process. Over and above the investment in the all-new TRIALSPHOTOS.COM I've also invested in updated printing technology ensuring maximum possible quality from our digital prints. To mark the re-launch of TRIALSPHOTOS.COM there is FREE delivery on all orders over
  2. I wouldn't be making statements like that. You'll have half of Yorkshire travelling down if they think there's free beer!
  3. Thanks for the story Craig. I've headlined it as the previous headline was also about Pat. It's a real shame the way things have worked out, but he's totally right. If he's not enjoying it then why should he do it? The travel is bad enough for me who is mostly only going from the UK to mainland Europe without the transatlantic stuff, jetlag and the cultural changes which it was obvious he struggled with. Fair play to the lad for being up-front and honest about it.
  4. My fault. Got side-tracked by some small Trials event that was going on up in Fort William According to the entry, the winner drawn was an Oliver Roberts, BUT we later found out (too late to withdraw the prize) that was the name of the BROTHER of the entrant and he'd used his brother's name to sneak multiple entries in. Not too chuffed about that, but I now know who he is and the pseudonyms he uses so any future entries to any other competitions will be deleted. The answers were: (1) GASGAS RAGA 2008 (2) SHERCO CABESTANY 2007 (3) BETA EVO 4T 2009 (4) FANTIC 240 1984 (5) MONTESA 4RT 2009 (6) SHERCO ST 2010 (7) GASGAS RAGA 2009 (8) OSET SPIDER 36V 2009 (9) SHERCO ST320 4T 2009 Note, if you disagree with any of the answers, take it up with Nige at Trials UK - he set the questions!
  5. I ran a Bach conversion on my photos and they all turned out like this

  7. My fault. Created PDF from active sheet, not entire workbook. now sorted.
  8. Totally irrelevant to Trials bikes, but brings to mind a story when I was a kid. Would only have been about 11 or 12 at the time. Friend and I got hold of an old lawnmower engine and decided we'd build a go-Kart. His neighbour was a blacksmith so he built the frame complete with wheels, steering etc, but we couldn't get the bloody engine to start. Decided, having seen my Dad "bump-start" his car that the best idea was for my mate to sit on the go-Kart steering it, I'd push it as fast as I could and at the same time pull the starter rope to "bump start" it. Sooo... I'm pushing this thing as fast as I possibly can across the farmyard with my mate comfortably sat in it doing the steering. I yank the starter rope whilst still pushing as fast as a kid can push, not even realising the dangers of having my "pushing hand" on top of the exposed spark plug.... I went about 20 feet in the backward direction whilst he's insulting me as to why I gave up trying to "bump start" our pride and joy. Project was abandoned shortly after Funny looking back, but it hurt like hell at the time.
  9. On front page now. Clickety linky. Actually got them on Monday, but been on boring corporate training all week Sawree...
  10. Would Dougie have had the same problem if he'd been riding a bio-diesel bike?
  11. Because Bigfoot is naked in it?
  12. Tell you what Robert - the World Round at Aonach Mor is just seven weeks away. Come up and I'll introduce you and let you educate Dougie & Mart - on the condition you lend me your camera so I can film them in HD tearing you a new one
  13. Why are you starting multiple topics on the same thing? This is getting a bit tedious...
  14. With the 2010 Scottish literally just days away, I've made a couple of changes to the TC forums. Firstly, I've split the normal SSDT forum out from the General forums and given it it's own category up top and more prominent for the duration of the Trial. Secondly, and this is pretty cool (if you're a geek like me ) you'll notice a seperate forum called "SSDT News Feed". We now have a little software "robot" watching the SSDT website. Whenever the organisers post an update to the SSDT website a new Topic will be created in the SSDT News Feed Forum with a summary of that update and a link that will take you to the full article on the SSDT site. Users will be able to post comments/replies to topics in the SSDT News Feed Forum, but you will not be able to create new Topics. Only our little robot can create topics in that Forum. Use the normal SSDT Chat forum for any new topics you wish to create. There will also be changes made to the TC front page to automate the updating of news from the 2010 SSDT which will be implemented tomorrow before I head off to the Pre-65
  15. Must have this! 1000 Years of annoying the French "Was the Battle of Hastings a French victory? No! William the Conqueror was Norman and hated the French. Were the Brits really responsible for the death of Joan of Arc? No! The French sentenced her to death for wearing trousers. Was the guillotine a French invention? No! It was invented in Yorkshire. Ten centuries' worth of French historical 'facts' bite the dust as Stephen Clarke looks at what has really been going on since 1066. "
  16. 8pm Monday night is decided as that suits the majority. Anybody wanting to join us is more than welcome, but I need to know sooner rather than later to get it booked. Send me a PM or email me - trialscentral AT trialscentral.com
  17. Dodgy copies of Ryan's DVD's have come up in the past. The answer is don't buy from EBay if you want to be sure you're buying the genuine article. Motomerlin - who support this site sell the genuine article. If you want it, buy from them. They help pay the costs of providing Trials Central which helps you have this forum to talk on
  18. Can't picture you right now, but I know we must have met as I've met all the RAF boys through Mark. I'll PM you my mobile number in case you change your mind about the curry. The lads might take the p*** if you have a Korma. but you'd be welcome nonetheless.
  19. I can't say for certain as the pic is tiny, but your avatar looks supiciously like it was taken at Creag Lundie in which case you made it much further than Leanachen on the Monday
  20. so funny he had to post it twice
  21. Agreed. Park up in the field at the community hall - cost you a donation, but worth it to support the local community and then drop into the hall for cuppa and a sandwich and try some of their home baking. I've not got a sweet tooth and rarely eat cakes etc, but what they have in there is to die for. All home-made too. Manna from heaven
