When you get a notification of a new Instagram follower and click on their username to be confronted with their only pic...
-
There's a plugin I've still to install that interprets photos and rotates them correctly. Its on my to do list but involves a recompile which isn't a 2 minute job

This only applies to existing TC Supporters
I am now moving subscriptions for all TC Supporters from the old system to using the Forums inbuilt subscription functions. Unfortunately, I have to do this manually, user by user. As I do each user you will receive an automatic invoice email regarding your subscription. These can be ignored and deleted. It's just the way I have to handle existing subscribers.
Note it is currently not possible to sign up or renew as a TC Supporter. I don't want to make that available until I've got all the current users sorted out.

For years I could recover stuff that had accidently been deleted by users, then they took that ability away so gone meant gone, instantly and permanently. The recent upgrade has restored that ability so if you delete a post/topic by accident, PM me and I can automagically bring it back.
-
This should now be fixed Let me know if it's still playing up.
-
It was missed during the last upgrade and then forgotten about for a couple of years, but the TC Garage is back! Accessible via the Garage link on the top menu bar.
I think it's working fine despite its sabbatical, but any problems, reply here.
-
The TC Main Page button on the menu bar works fine for me, but I'll try it in different browsers later. The logo link I always have to hack whenever I change things so that's an easy fix I've just done. It should now direct to the main site.
-
I didn't touch any of that. What's happening when you try?
-
Got an example I can try? Just topic title if you can't post link
-
Cheers. Hadn't spotted that one. Now fixed.

As part of the upgrade, any user who does not have a profile pic uploaded will automatically have a profile pic with the default of the first letter of their user name as shown below:
If you want to change this, it's dead easy. Simply click on the "letter" pic (S or J in the example above) then click on the small picture bottom left of the current pic as below:
You can then upload your own profile pic.

Today's bit done. Some major changes under the hood and it's been impossible for me to test all of them so any problems, reply here. I still have loads to sort, but can do that with forums online
System is doing various rebuilds in the background so will likely be slow for most of the day.

I'm going to push ahead with the first stage of this tomorrow morning UK time. After the upgrade, you may see a window asking you to complete any profile info that's missing. The only bit that will be mandatory is location (if it's not already set). It's really useful for people answering questions to know where folk are. Region, County or State and Country are fine.
Stage 1) Upgrade and refreshed look
Stage 2) Bring Classifieds into Forums
Stage 3) Bring Calendar into Forums and add some cool new toys.

Hmmm. Received this yesterday from the FIM:
"Despite the best efforts of 2Play, the promoter of the FIM X-Trial World Championship, we hereby announce that the event originally scheduled to take place in Seville, Spain on 8 March has been cancelled. The FIM and 2Play are looking for a replacement venue that will be communicated as soon as possible."
A replacement round has been added to the calendar as a "To Be Advised", but at the end of the season.
I smell a "Lets give Toni time to recover" rat

I might start the upgrades this weekend depending on what the weather does ?
-
It'll probably raise the debate about back protectors being mandatory again.
-
-
I've never understood that myself. Paying someone to advertise their brand for them ?

I've recently got into home automation and although I've already got an alarm, if I was starting from scratch on security, the home automation route would be the way I'd go. Buy a garage alarm and it's just that - an alarm for the garage. Spend a little more initially and you have the foundation for a load of other uses that's modular and easily expanded.
Start with a hub (I'm using the Samsung Smartthings one) and add to it as you want. Can add all manner of sensors, switches, lights, sirens etc (velcro a vibration sensor onto the bike?) and it's very easy to set up and manage with notifications to your phone if something happens.
Everything apart from the hub (which lives in the house next to your internet router) is battery operated so no dicking about with cables and because it uses Z-Wave and ZigBee wireless comms there's a multitude of compatible third party devices out there at not a huge cost. You can link devices together so, for example, a motion sensor covering the approach to the garage detects motion. That turns on a floodlight, but can also turn on lights in the house to make it look like someone is up and about and turn on the lights inside the garage. Thieving scum don't like light. if they then persist into the garage, detectors there can act like a normal alarm and sound sirens etc. Bonus is you can expand it to other areas like security for the house and heating/lighting/appliance control just by adding the right gadgets (and I like gadgets).

Yup. They've emailed me seperately. I'm putting together a proposal for some riders with yourself and Dadof providing half time entertainment by way of a mud wrestling session.
-
Yup. Not the case with an individual reply to a topic, but removal of the first post in any topic will delete the entire topic. That can't be changed. I can set it so that after x period of time a topic/post can't be deleted, but never had the need to enable that.
-
Posts are the same as topics. Only myself and the person who made the post/reply can delete them and I've not deleted anything.
-
I've not removed anything recently other than a few duplicate topics. Only person who can remove a topic apart from me is the person who started it.
