  1. It wan't taken off. You posted it in the Twinshock forum
  2. For those that don't read the front page... As has recently been communicated to Centres, the Trials & Enduro Committee will be holding an Open Trials Forum at ACU House on Saturday 8th August 2009 starting at 10.30am prompt. Issues relating to the British Solo Trials Championship will be discussed at a separate forum at a later date. You are cordially invited to attend and put forward any views or suggestions you may have for the 2010 season. If you have any specific items that you feel should be included on the agenda, please contact Alison Devine at the ACU and we will try to include them on the main agenda. By holding the Forum at this time of year it is hoped that there will be ample time to discuss the many and varied issues relating to Trials Championships and enable adequate time for any changes agreed to be included in the 2010 ACU Handbook. Light refreshments will be available. This forum is your opportunity to voice your ideas and opinions and the Trials & Enduro Committee hope it will be well attended. Attendance at past Forums has varied greatly

    Scorpa?

They also have a habit of surrendering
  4. Agreed. If I had the time I'd dub some over it
  5. I have only seen undedited footage of this year's event and from what I've seen there will be some great footage. I know last year's DVD went down a storm. John & Matt come up every year at their own expense and ask for very little in return for their efforts. Please support them if you can - it'll be well worth that fiver
  6. Hola from Andorra To address the Site Supporter thing first, your username is pillar, but you registered as a supporter under the username "pure adrenaline" and with a different email address. The system has no way of linking the two usernames hence no supporters logo. I've deleted the "pureadrenalin" user and transferred the supporter status to the "pillar" username In terms of benefits, you have access to 7.5GB (currently) of photo and video from all sorts of events that non-supporters cannot access. This is acessed via the relevant articles on the front page. This continues to grow as I cover more events, such as WTC in Andorra this weekend. On the forums you also have 20MB of space for uploading photos etc instead of having to use external picture hosting and increased personal message storage to 100 PMs instead of 20 (I think) for non-supporters. Think that covers everything

    Name Please

Have front-paged this video. Bit of Googling and his name is Peter Oakley. A bit of a Net celebrity by all accounts. Website is www.askgeriatric.com
  8. I've never seen any campsites in Andorra in the years I've been going, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. Best to try the tourist office: Tel. 00 376 841352 / 744045 Fax 00 376 844678 http://www.santjulia.ad If you do go then you MUST do the Tobotronic toboggan run. It was the high point of the year last year! Biggest in the world. About 10 minutes to the top and a serious climb then 5km'ish to the bottom at crazy speeds (if you don't use the brakes!) Never be allowed in the UK due to "Health & Safety", but a must-do if you go to Andorra. Several videos on YouTube, but none show how fast you feel you are going
  9. I don't often look in this forum, but happened to tonight. I'll try to get you guys some coverage of Eric over the next couple of weeks. I made a point of doing so with Patrick when he first appeared on the world scene. No guarantees as to what coverage I'll get, but I'll be there and try my best
  10. I'm in Central Scotland and the venue is a good two hours drive from me and that's in the Scoob Try "highlands". It's a fair distance, but as has already been mentioned on here you can get dirt cheap flights to an airport a couple of hours away and hire a car for next to nothing if you book early I've seen a litle bit of the terrain/sections they intend using and I think you'll see something totally different to any world round you might have seen in recent years Because they get the support and funding to lay one on - plus they don't have to deal with the health and safety, risk assessments and all the other bollocks organisers in the UK have to due to our compensation culture which we have inherited from our American friends... Never flown into Gerona for the Andorra round. Always been Barcelona and is this time too. Yes it's a long drive, but anyone who does it year on year will notice it gets better each time we go up. More of it becomes dual carriageway each year. They're investing in the road infrastructure out there. Can we say the same here? The sheer cost due to all the health and safety stuff aforementioned, plus the mindset here that motorcycles are dirty, polluting and tear up the environment. Very few are prepared to take the risk given the massive financial outlay required up front, all the red tape they have to fight through and with no guaranteed return on their investment. World rounds have nothing to do with the ACU. They're homologated by the FIM and many are homologated that shouldn't be...
  11. Last paragraph here may be of use
  12. Hmmm - Marrakesh Records, discoverers of The Killers say... "... please note that we only sign 1 or 2 new artists per year. The good news is that this means that we can focus on giving them a really professional and personal service. The bad news is that it means that we only accept new band submissions via friend requests on myspace because it makes them manageable for us. So if you contact us in any other way then we won't accept your call or read your email, and anything that you send us by snail mail will go straight in the bin! Sorry, but that's how it works when you've only got 3 people in the office." Good savvy to promote the MySpace stuff....
  13. I went along in 2004 just to see what went on. It's the only event I've ever attended where I actually took a notebook and made notes as the day progressed! The original article I wrote is here. Some of the tutors may have changed, but I doubt the format or the banter (and there's plenty of that!) has. It's hard to believe that was five years ago now, but I do recall it was very relaxed, no pressure on anyone and I remember being amazed by the progress made by some of the participants over the course of the day. This photo kinda sums it up

    Yowch

    Hell hath no fury...
  15. I've contacted Barcota directly regarding his understandable question, but appreciate others are waiting patiently and keen to see the video coverage from this event so... The morning after Carlisle, I received word of a very sudden and totally unexpected family bereavement. This came as a massive shock and has obviously pushed everything else to one side. The Supporters video coverage will come - in fact I'm working on it right now and should, all being well, get it online at some point tomorrow evening. Thanks for your patience over this. Andy
  16. Posted on TC on 12th May
  17. I believe Gary is slowly going demented so may not respond I'm told you can walk the entire lap in 15 minutes

    Ssdt 2009 Dvd

I actually have a bone to pick with you Mr M. that I forgot to mention. Bloody Propaganda - Eye to Eye! Quietly minding my own business on my way out to Leanachen then you suggested that (where on earth did you get that from?!!) Was in me head rest of the day and wouldn't go away. Apologies to those who had to suffer listening to me whistle it badly at sections, but it's all Big John's fault!

    Dan Hemmo

Wellies are a must for the SSDT, particularly this year. Best
  20. I'm sure he wasn't this fat when I saw him on Saturday! Fair set of breast implants
  21. I do believe you were the only rider called up on stage by their TC user name! Good to see you and well done on the result
