  1. I've got an X-Box and Wi-Fi card so got the connectivity, just never got round to signing up to Live. Would never even attempt COD-4 on a console as I'm a PC Man through and through when it comes to FPS Games. Got COD 3 with the X-Box and just couldn't get to grips with it. Give me a mouse and keyboard any day PGR and Forza on the other hand - that's a definite maybe - if I ever get time BTW, somebody mentioned the other day that Argos were doing PGR4 for a tenner.

    Baaaah

Nothing wrong with sheep. 1) They never say no 2) They never "have a headache" 3) You can eat them when you're finished
  3. What is being asked for is what the bike-specific Forums and the mechanical talk are there for already. The bike-specific ones are best to be honest as you're far more likely to find a fellow-owner of the same brand who can help than by posting in the mechanical one.
  4. Don't blame you. I priced the flight from Vegas to Atlanta at
  5. After a bit of a chat with kjax, I've created this forum. It's basically identical to the one that exists in the UK Trials area and does what it says on the tin. It can be used for calendars, event previews, after-event thoughts etc. I've also created one for Canada.
  6. Re the TN World Round, I was a bit unsure of how our travel people would handle it as they can be very funny over these things. However, got confirmation today they're happy for me to fly from the UK out to Vegas then sort out my return flight from Atlanta. All I have to sort out and pay for is my flight from Vegas to Atlanta on Friday and car hire. I know the Holiday Inn Express in Kimball was where we stayed last time, but it's not the best. I'd prefer to stay on-site and do a bit of socialising since I rarely get to see any of you guys. It might be a dumb question, but I don't know how things work over there. Does anyone know if there are any local RV rental companies that will deliver to site then collect? I know Tennessee RV were there last time, but their stuff all seemed to be new and for sale rather than rental. I could hire an RV in Atlanta and drive it up, but I don't much fancy that as I don't know what time I'll be arriving yet. Answers on a postcard...
  7. There isn't a way I know of. I did used to zip them up and provide as one big archive. However there was rather a lot from Sheffield and it wouldn't take too many users all downloading the same 2-300MB file at once to swamp the server bandwidth and slow things down so I didn't this time. might do now though since the initial rush for them has gone.
  8. PM me the username and email address you used to register on the calendar
  9. The calendar currently requires seperate registration. Many have successfully signed up for it. If you're in Aberdeenshire then which Club do you belong to as Bon-Accord are already signed up.
  10. The enlarged picture is inappropriate for this website. PM the OP with links by all means, but please do not post the picture in question. PS - If PM'ing the link - cc me
  11. You're right. I've given up caring. hopefully once they lose their contract this year we can get back to something resembling a real championship, but for now I'm not fussed and sure as hell aren't going to go chasing them. As has been mentioned - go to todotrial. It's a spanish championship and they're far better placed than I am.
  12. On that point, I can absolutely confirm my travels are nothing glamorous whatsoever. I'm working in London for the next couple of days. Flew into London City Airport this afternoon (giving up my sunday afternoon for work). The Blackwall tunnel was closed so my 9 mile taxi journey to the hotel ended up costing
  13. I think Octagon might have removed me from their press list Only just got Dougie and James' press releases in, but no official release.
  14. Cheeky sod! It was actually BMI. I won't fly BA unless I have no choice.
  15. My car's been parked at Edinburgh Airport since last Sunday so it certainly wasn't me!
  16. I'm due to fly back to Edinburgh this evening. Could be entertaining!
  17. Superb photos. However where you get Zebra and other such consumables, you also get the "consumers" such as lions. Can you outrun one?!
  18. I'm on the road at the mo so can't tell you the exact scanner I've got, but I bought it purely to scan hundreds of slides I came across when clearing out my folks place when they moved. I know it's Epson and the quality of scan was fantastic for the money. I'll reply again tomorrow with a couple of samples once I'm back home - weather permitting!
  19. If you have to understand French history in order to understand why they answer questions the way they do then surely it would be fair to assume that if you asked the French what colour their flag is, the majority would say white...
  20. A "customizable" front page is something I've considered previously so, lets say you were in the US, you could select so you got US News (along with the World stuff of course), US Calendar and US-based advertisers. Providing what I've said tonight in this topic goes ahead then it will open up all sorts of possibilities. However, that sort of thing is a LOT of work and I'd only go to the trouble of customizable content if I thought it was actually going to be used.
  21. I absolutely agree with you and it's a shame the juvenile actions of a small minority spoiled it for the majority, however I'm sure that same juvenile majority would still be just as juvenile if the facility were re-instated. In saying that, there may be some light on the horizon. The Content Management System which controls all the front page news etc was fine for the job when I started the site four years ago, but it's somewhat dated and simplistic these days. We have been actively looking for a replacement and the current favourite does have the facility to allow for comments, but only to registered users. That offers the control that's needed to bring something like that back. The big issue and ideal scenario would be tying registration for that in with registration for the forums and we're nowhere near that stage yet. Watch this space...
  22. I would remind you the owner of this site is an Aberdonian....
  23. This is traditionally a quiet time of year so it's always a bit like this at this time of year. There's only so much info I'm willing to reveal publicly, but hits and page views on Trials Central continue to increase on a month by month basis. It's been hovering around the 3,000,000 page views per month for a few months, gradually increasing. I migrated the server in July 2007 so don't have stats from before then but the trend is definitely continued growth. In terms of Forum Registrations, for the past few months it's run... October 2007 - 112 November 2007 - 149 December 2007 - 136 January 2008 - 165 Again, an upward trend. If you bear in mind the publicity I've done for TC since starting it four years ago has been absolutely minimal and 99% of people get here by word of mouth, I'm more than delighted with how the site does. Thanks to the sponsors and the supporters it's now at a stage where I can start to return a bit to the sport financially. As far as the new bike info goes - just as an example - I rely on people sending me that kind of information. I'm not a full-time journo and have a real-life job over and above this so don't have the time to go chasing for it. Trials is, or has been a very old-fashioned sport. It's only in recent times people are starting to adopt new technologies like computerised results and this fancy fangled Interweb! I was talking to Jake a couple of days ago about my plans for the 2008 WTC. I currently plan on attending all World rounds with the exception of Japan and Sweden. Japan because it's so far to fly and the Honda complex, though very impressive, is not a nice place to be stuck and Sweden because us Subaru Impreza nuts have a massive Colin McRae tribute weekend planned for that weekend. I am pleased to say I should be able to make the US round though as I'm out there the week before for a conference so will (hopefully) be able to jump on an internal flight to Tennessee. Depends on how awkward our company travel people are.
